CWD restrictions has become a big problem for not only taxidermist, but hunters as well. Virginia now has 4 CWD zones where deer can not be taken out of that zone, along with all of the out of state hunters. DWR just released their public comment scoping period, which means YOU as the hunter can go on there and ask the DWR to create a CWD CERTIFICATION PROGRAM for taxidermist to be allowed to take in deer from not only the Virginia CWD zones, but also out of state if the proper procedures are followed which is where the program comes in.
We are asking that you Please go to the DWR website https://dwr.virginia.gov/regulations/2025-2026-wildlife-regulations-public-scoping-period/ and request them to take a look at implementing this program as other states have already done.

You can also submit as many forms as you would like to voice your opinion on any other regulations that you would like to see changed as well.
