🐴Luna🐴 The quarter mare was really stiff in her body when I got her three weeks ago. After some training sessions she started to loosen up and was able to start some stretching on the right hand in the trot and even the lope. She didn’t show any sign of relaxation at first when she moves out to the right hand so I’m pretty happy with this step.

No work ethic today 😆

Me and Blue’s owner played around with the remote control car again! The 3 year old blue roan mare did amazing!

After an intensive riding session we went on the trail 🌳🌳🌳cool down!
🐴Misty🐴 I was able to pick up Misty’s front feet without running into a big problem today! It’s still a long way and I have to deal with her hindquarters but this was a huge step for the 20 year old mare! I had to be really careful when I prepared her to pick up a feet. Now we finally found a starting point 🙂
I didn’t expect her to behave so well and you can see it in my face! I had to celebrate a little bit with some glitter and triumphant music 😆🤣
🐴Tinker🐴 I went on a small trail ride with the gaited filly. She figured out how to walk over logs, she walked over ditches, we rode around trees, I flexed her a lot and I got on and off of her on different places. I want the horse to stand still when I mount or dismount. The dogs ran back and forth and Tinker didn’t react at all. I rode her in the colt starting hackamore. She's had the snaffle bit in her mouth a few times to get used to the feeling.
I don’t want to ride her only with the snaffle bit right now, because she is dealing with change of teeth. Out of experience I don’t think there will be a problem to ride her in a snaffle bit in a couple of weeks.

Here you can see some of the preparation for the first ride with colt “Ollie”. The huge three year old gelding didn’t overreact at all and it was a pretty easy session for us! Pretty smooth!

The 20 year old Quarter Horse mare does a good job so far. She is still a little bit on the lazy side but because of her age I don’t want to push her to quick to much. I prefer to build her up in small steps and her canter is already much better now. She is really stiff and I work on her softness every session. She stays friendly all the time and I’ll push her more and more to try a little harder for me. She enjoys to be brushed and a shower after a good workout. Misty doesn’t has a lot of patience while she is tied up and paws but it’s getting better as well. I still have to remind her to back out of my space from time to time, good ground manners are really important for me! As always - safety first!

I’m a little behind with updates but we put the first couple rides on the colts! In the short videos you can see some steps I like to do to prepare the colts for their first rides. I want them to feel safe and be totally relaxed. I also need them to accept it when I touch them with my hands and my leg behind and around the saddle area, so they hopefully won’t buck or freak out suddenly because of my movements. The colts know how to give to pressure and I am able to flex them from both sides. So far I’m really happy with them!
