I love what I do! My goal is to enhance the breed and to educate the public on the Long Haired German Shepherd breed. All our GSD's are AKC registered from West German Descent. Large blocky heads, big bone structure and incredible temperments are our goals. We raise with family for families. With Kids for kids. We as a family all participate in the socialization and care of our GSD's. Why do we pu
t in the long hours and care? We do it because we love all our GSD's. To us it is not a job it is a lifestyle. We not only breed German Shepherds we also train and provide educational information on the breed. I have have over 25 years of experience training and raising this magnificent breed. Remember: A dog is the ONLY family member, YOU ever get to choose. For more info visit our website www.bestshepherds.com
About our Trained German Shepherds. Every “Good Dog” has the potential to be a “Great Dog”
All puppies are born to be "Good." With lack of training, limits, and rules dogs can become "Less-Good" Lack of training is similar to a "lack of good manners" in children. Take your pick, wouldn't you want a well-behaved responsive dog rather than an uncontrollable, wild and willful dog. Most people would say "yes" and that is the fundamental reason for Professionally Training a dog. Training makes your dog a more socially acceptable and pleasant companion. Training makes your good dog a “Great Dog”. If you feel you are unable to train a dog, Bouchard’s Best Shepherds is happy to do the training for you. Our training Program: “Bouchard’s Natural Environmental Training” This is taught through positive reinforcement, praise, and reward. All done in the real world, not in a classroom. Our tools are the environment around us. Restaurants, the beaches, city sidewalks, stores, USC Gamecock events, etc..... This is Bouchard’s Best Shepherds training ground. Building confidence in new situations, and praising for the wonderful behaviors they demonstrate. Just like a child new things can be scary, to overcome fears, I show leadership, and confidence when one of our dogs is in a new situation. Our dogs look to us for support, and reassurance in unfamiliar situations. They watch our confidence, and mimic it. This is all part of training. Teaching our dogs to be confident in all situations, and to build on confidence. This is how we train. Our dogs go everywhere with us, we train all the time. Watching our videos , and we have a lot of them, will show you how much time we put in to making our dogs happy, well adjusted Canine Good Citizens. I believe all dogs are ‘good’. The problems manifested in a “bad” dog usually lies with the owner being a “bad Owner”. Un-socialized, untrained dogs, act, and behave the same as a wild dog. They have not been trained, so rely on what nature has given them. They demonstrate behaviors owners may find hard to deal with for lack of understanding the ‘human way’. German Shepherds want to learn, please, and “do” whatever it takes to be your best friend. However, they need to be taught what is acceptable, and what is not. A puppy is like a child, needing support, praise, limits, and rules. Rules and limits, make a pup feel safe, and that you are in control. If you are not in control, as your Shepherd matures, your shepherd will try to be in control. You must establish being the alpha. As German Shepherds need a leader, an Alpha. You must become their “Great Leader” you must live up to this position. German Shepherds love to learn and “want, and need” to be included in your every day life. Training is part of being a responsible owner. Whether you train yourself, hire a trainer, or have “us” train for you. It is your responsibility to train your dog to be a good citizen. There is nothing better than a well trained, socialized, happy dog. A well trained dog is accepted in society. A well trained dog is greeted, loved, and enjoyed by all. A well trained dog is easy to travel with. A well trained dog is “FUN!” Training levels differ to meet each clients individual needs. A trained young pup, usually between 4-6 months, will be socialized, socialized with other dogs, socialized with children, Able to meet and greet other humans, able to travel in a car, housebroken, crate-trained, walks with you on a leash, follow all basic commands such as "sit, down, stay and come." This is the level of a typical well-behaved "family" dog. You as a responsible owner must continue, and follow through with socializing, and reinforcing commands. Your trained pup is still a pup, and “you” will need to build on the foundation Bouchard’s Best Shepherds has provided this pup with. These pups come with all shots including Rabies, three health checks, Microchip with HomeAgain, AKC registration papers, and a two year guarantee. Our trained pups start at $4,000.00 and go up from there, depending on age, and level of training. We do all of this, for you!!!
