A video I’ve been meaning to make for a while! Have you ever met an adult cat that when you go to pet it, it thought you were playing and in turn tried to nip your fingers? Not out of anger or fear, but just not understanding boundaries around biting. This cat, was a single kitten. And single kitten syndrome is one of the most important, and least widely known things when adopting out kittens! While you can still get single kittens from city shelters and Craigslist, I beg you, share this with anyone who’s considering just 1 kitten and implore them to get 2, or an adult! They’re only kittens for a short time anyways.
Alsoooo for those who remember how an eternity ago I teased a Marshal and Penn friendship, it happened!! They are best friends 😭. And are now available for adoption, as a pair and only as a pair! Application in my bio ❤️

It’s an impossible task to fit a years worth of rescue into 60 seconds ❤️ we’ve had many ups and downs this year and I want to thank you all for being here with us on this journey.
In 2023 we:
Rescued 234 friendly cats and kittens
TNR’d 55 ferals
Fixed 12 cats for community members in need
Went to the vet 134 times
And said goodbye to 10 amazing cats I’ll never forget
I can’t believe I’m finally sharing this. Finding out that my lease wasn’t being renewed and that my current building was being listed for sale was not something I anticipated for this year. Owning my own home has been a lifelong dream, something that I thought I would never achieve. But I just can’t bet on finding a rental that will allow me to keep rescuing at this volume. Over 1,000(!) cats have come through this apartment in the last 11 years!! That is absolutely wild to me. And I’m planing to rescue a thousand more and beyond in my next home. I fully understand that there are much more serious problems in the world that could use financial support more than me, and honestly I feel selfish asking. But if you happen to be so inclined, all of my summer merch I just launched will help me raise funds for a down payment and closing costs, so that I can achieve this dream. Well, if this doesn’t, just absolutely melt your heart… Norbert went to meet his forever family today! My middle baby, who is only four years old, was trying to reason with me on keeping him. This is one of the harder parts of breeding, but I try to explain it to my children that they understand that families don’t get to raise babies the way that we do, and that in doing this, we allow other families to experience the joy and love that we do in having kitties. #rebecca #mainecoon #fureverfamily #gohomeday
