SUMMIT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE JOINS FORCES WITH THE PINK PATCH PROJECT FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – The Summit County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce its participation in the Pink Patch Project during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This collaboration is part of our commitment to raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international campaign aimed at increasing awareness about breast cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection, and supporting research efforts to find a cure. The Pink Patch Project is a nationwide initiative that brings together law enforcement agencies, including the Summit County Sheriff's Office, to promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.
Throughout the month of October, members of the Summit County Sheriff's Office will proudly wear specially designed pink patches on their uniforms to show solidarity with those battling breast cancer and to remind the community about the importance of regular screenings and early detection. These pink patches will serve as a visual reminder of our dedication to the cause.
In addition to wearing pink patches, the Summit County Sheriff's Office will be offering limited-edition pink patches to the public for a suggested donation of $15. The funds raised from patch sales will go towards supporting local care and patients’ needs through the Breast Cancer Fund at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco, Colorado. Those interested in obtaining a pink patch should stop by the Sheriff’s Office, located at 501 N. Park Avenue in Breckenridge or mail a check or money order made payable to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, Attention Pink Patch Project at P.O. Box 210, Breckenridge, CO 80424. By purchasing and proudly displaying these patches, community members can join our efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, stating, "Breast cancer affects millions of individuals and families across the world. As members of the law enforcement community, it's our duty to not only protect and serve but also to support important causes like breast cancer awareness. We are excited to be part of the Pink Patch Project and contribute to this essential cause."
The Summit County Sheriff's Office encourages residents and businesses in the community to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month by displaying pink ribbons, organizing awareness events, and supporting local breast cancer charities.

To all my good customers, I’m starting to scale back...Having a full time job and another full-time job is catching up with me. Most of my good customers know I’m way behind. It’s not fair to the customer to have to wait year and a half plus to get your trophy back. With fewer and fewer taxidermist out there, my work continues to build. I will only be taking work on a case by case bases. Thank you to all my customers out there and this has been a hard decision. There is another chapter in my life waiting in Colorado and I can’t wait to explore the next challenge! Thank you to all my customers over the years! It’s bitter sweat as I enjoy taxidermy and it is a passion of mine, but there is more to life than work...I will continue to dabble a bit, but for the most part the commercial work is done. Again thank you to ALL customers over the years!

Brought a little bit of Minnesota to New Mexico elk camp this year. Pulled the fish house down instead of staying in the wall tent. My wife Mary said it didn’t feel like elk camp, not camping at 10,000 feet. But it sure was nice coming back to a warm bed at the end of the day! We had a great hunt and Mary shot her fist bull after five years of hard work. I’m proud of her for sticking with it. It paid off as she has the biggest bull in the Clark house to date. We’ll have to find a spot for another shoulder mount!

As the sun sets over the New Mexico mountains, so does the 2018 elk season for us...I can’t wait for next September to chase screaming bulls in Montana with my bow!

To most hunters, hunting is more than just killing. I spent the last seven days traipsing around the mountains and I guarantee you, I saw things that no human being has ever seen in the wild and will never see again. At the end of the day it’s not about the size of the rack or the kill, it’s about the experience...With that said, I was still hunting! After many encounters, I never did cross paths with a mature Bull. After all the mind games of the week, at the last hour of the last day the Lord granted me an opportunity to harvest a mature cow and I took him up on it...My Montana elk tag is filled. I still have a deer tag in my pack and hope to be west bound again for the rut!
