In Loving Memory of this handsome guy, Gunner, who went to The Next Ridge 6/27/25. ❤🌈🐾
"Gunner was full of life, mischief, and heart. He had a need for speed—and a habit of sprinting next door to “borrow” the neighbor’s dog toys, proudly high-stepping them back home like he wasn’t up to anything suspicious at all.
His favorite toys were his hamburger and his beloved Buc-ee, which he’d eagerly chase during fetch—until he decided it was time to stretch out in the sunshine and work on his tan.
Gunner loved the camera and knew how to strike a pose, always keeping his style sharp “for the ladies.” He even won a pet photo contest and earned his place as Mr. July 2025 in the calendar—right where he belonged.
Wherever his family was, Gunner was close by. Whether inside or out, doing yard work or relaxing, he made sure to stay in the middle of it all. He was especially close to his sister, Remi, and always wanted to be part of the pack.
He had a routine when it came to treats: one before his people left, and one when they came back—waiting so patiently, paws perched on the couch, with those expressive little eyebrows full of hope and charm.
New toys didn’t stand a chance with Gunner. Within five minutes, the squeaker would be “liberated”—he clearly thought they were too annoying. Then he’d test if the stuffing from his Easter Bunny sock monkey (or the occasional couch cushion) tasted just as good, always caught “paw-handed” with a guilty-but-adorable face that said, “This mess? I have no idea what happened here.”
Every night, Gunner was tucked into bed with his own pillow and blanket, just like a child waiting for Santa Claus. He was always kissed goodnight.
Gunner had a way of making everyone who met him feel special—and everyone loved him in return. He was the center of attention, the loyal protector, a master of high fives and handshakes, and the heart of his home.
He truly loved his spoiled, wonderful life—but even more, he loved his family. And his family loved him with every part of theirs. Life feels quieter now without him following them from room to room, always watching, always listening, always there."
We love our Next Ridge families. Sending hugs to Melissa, Sean, Levi, and everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with this wonderful boy.❤
