We have been pretty blessed with this mild winter. However coming into what is typically the most cold/snowy time of year for us here is a reminder about winter weather.

Winter is fast approaching, and while our weather has been great lately it won’t last long! I get asked often if I will continue to work through the winter and the answer to that is YES! The trailer survived Chicago winters prior to coming to the STL area so I have full confidence that I will continue to work through out the cold months.

With that said, when inclement weather strikes I will reschedule. The safety of myself, the business, and your pups is the most important! Please note, due to the weight of the trailer if your street/driveway (if you live a ways off the main road) has not been plowed after snow I will not be able to service you until it is cleared.

We know we have been posting a lot lately however this is news that everyone must know!

A rare antibiotic resistant dog flu has spread to ten states, recently making an impact in the Chicagoland area. The pneumonia-like illness consists of coughing, sneezing, and discharge of the nose and/or eyes.

What does this mean for your dog?
Well, first things first, we highly recommend all dogs are up to date on all of their vaccinations. While being fully vaccinated does not mean your dog cannot catch kennel cough, dog flu, etc, it does often lesson the symptoms of the illness. With that being said, there is no vaccination for the new virus that is spreading. We currently recommend keeping your dog out of dog parks, daycares, and lodging facilities if you can. But also note, your dog can pick this virus up while on neighborhood walks as well.

At the moment, we have no idea how long the incubation period is, or how long the virus is living on hard and soft surfaces. If your dog has been to the Chicagoland area two weeks prior to their appointment we suggest rescheduling their appointment. If you find your dog coughing for any reason PLEASE reschedule your appointment. If we arrive to your house and your dog is showing symptoms we will refuse service. This will be treated as a “no show appointment” as we cannot fill that slot. 100% of the scheduled groom price will be balanced to the account and must be paid prior to rescheduling.

As of now, there have been no reports of the virus in our area. However, please be patient with arrival windows as we will be taking extra time to ensure everything is completely cleaned and sanitized between clients!
