Our Why

Welcome! We are a family blended with love, faith and a whole lot of grace. God has truly blessed the broken roads that led our lives together. A few years ago, we were both working full time and spending too much time away from each other and our 5 kiddos. We were trying to add to our family (yes, on purpose!) and experienced heartache multiple times over when we lost three babies due to miscarriage. This was a reality check for me. I was stressed at work and struggling to maintain our home life. We did something drastic. I quit my job which was our biggest source of income. We decided to scale back in big ways in order to have more time at home with our children which included homeschooling our youngest.

A big piece of the puzzle in downsizing was a plan, more of a dream, to “live off the land”. We had recently purchased our home on just over 8 acres with ideas much bigger than we originally thought! Today, we are a family of 8 and couldn’t imagine our lives without little Makenna. We have officially kicked off our little farm. It was a family decision as to what we would focus on and after many discussions and various crazy requests from the kids, decided on a few areas to build our future.

Our first animal additions to the family were Claire, our female Standard Poodle, and Chewee, our stud muffin Toy Poodle. Next to the crew were our two horses, a Mama and her Filly. Myra and Keira were in desperate need of a new home and after we saw them, could not leave them in their current condition. Shane (our oldest goofball) decided he wanted a goat. After some research, we decided that Nigerian Dwarfs were the best fit for us. In the future we will be milking them and making some wonderful products! Jaden is our anti outside kid so when he requested rabbits, we hopped on board! Holland Lops are an adorable, sweet breed, famous for their floppy ears. What farm would be complete without chickens?!? Not ours! We have several breeds of chickens, including a few rare breeds such as Ayam Cemani, Blue Partridge Brahmas and Lavender Orpingtons.

In addition to our animals, we have future plans of an orchard area as well as growing a variety of produce. Our name was born from a scripture we often share with our kids. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says “Whether you eat or drink, or in all that you do, do it all to the glory of God.” We all have to do things every single day that we may not want to do, but if we remind ourselves that all the glory goes to God, we can focus on that and do the best that we can. Please join us as we embark on this journey that is sure to be filled with lots of laughter, love and craziness!
