Aggie here, my foster dad says that I’m the best puppers and I’m super smart. I’m pretty much potty trained and will go to the back door when I need to go out so most of the accidents are because they aren’t paying me the 100% attention. We’re still working on crate training. I’ll go in it with a little shove and then whine for a bit but eventually I just quiet down.
My foster dad works from home, so I spend most of my days on the dog bed chewing a nylabone, or a squeaky pig, or a rope, or another toy. If I’m not playing with something I’m usually taking a well deserved nap. When he’s working I’m usually curled up under his desk by his feet, and then at bedtime I have a bed in the bedroom that I sleep on.
I currently have 2 other fur foster siblings, a Frenchie and a Brittany (Spaniel) and we all get along. Lots of times since the weather is still nice dad will just have us all go outside in the fenced in yard to play and relax and give him a break. Every once in a while my neighbor will be out back with his little daughter and I’ll get handed over the fence to run and play with them. So I’m good with kids. I’ve never been around cats, but I’m a pretty easy going girl so I’d imagine I’d try playing with the kitty and if it liked it then I’d play, but if not then I’d leave it alone.
My worst habit at the moment is leash walking. Dad says I’m making progress but it’s definitely slow and steady.
I’m also currently eating about 5-6 cups of food a day from a raised bowl. If I could graze I would but the other dogs would eat the rest of my food, so I’m used to a breakfast and dinner routine.

Varys a handsome young dane full of energy and snuggles! Lots of play time, training and love are all that’s needed. He seems to like everyone he meets, can be shy at first but he always warms up quickly. Always happy to be included when others come over to visit. There will be zoomies.
Loves his toys, treats and naps and of course meal time. Will need more training but knows the basics. This boy still has lots of puppy in him and oh so sweet.
UPDATE:
Varys has been in rescue for a few months. His training has improved tremendously since arriving. He will need someone that is willing to continue the training that has been started. Varys is a smart sweet boy who needs a human to call his own.

Laverne arrived to FFGDRI rescue as a transfer from another giant breed rescue. Laverne and her siblings were sold at a dog auction in Missouri 2 1/2 weeks ago. Yes, dog auctions exist! These pups were from an Amish breeder in Indiana that could not sell them soon enough so they got shipped to Missouri to be sold for what ever they could get to make room for the next litter of pups. This is happening to every breed in the country.

Laverne was in a pen in Indiana with little to no interaction with her breeder. She is still covered in fly bite sores which are healing and very thin. She was overloaded with 2 different types of worms and not vaccinated correctly by the breeder. Thankfully she is thriving in her foster home. She is learning every day. She knows, go crate, sit, and go potty. she is not perfect with potty training but getting there. It is obvious she has had to be tough to survive. She will resource guard favorite toys or food sometimes. She is learning this is unacceptable behaviors.

Laverne is on medical hold until her vaccines are current and she can be spayed at 6 months. She should be available mid to late November.

We are a day late…but let’s be honest, National Dog Day is every day! We are lucky to meet some amazing pups and have our hearts open to such amazing love. Let us introduce you to some puppies! First before we go into details let us start by saying these adorable babies are NOT available for adoption just yet. We are currently working through their medical needs. A few of them came with some nasty parasites and bugs. We have to get them up to date on vaccines and when the time comes spay and neuter them. Taking five puppies on as a rescue is an expensive adventure. Each puppy will cost the rescue around $1000 a piece. We could use some help. If you are able to donate any amount would help. You can make a donation through our website. When you do make sure to note that it is for the puppies. As we get to know these sweet babies we will post highlights on each. I came into rescue when my family couldn’t afford the surgery I needed. I had a blockage in my stomach. It was full of leaves and sticks. The kind vet who took me in did surgery to clean out my stomach, then she tacked it and spayed me. The vet then called FFGDRI and here I am looking for a new home. I am 2 yrs old. My foster mom calls me a pocket Dane. I am not sure what that means but I weigh 93lbs. I am good with other large dogs and cats. I love to run, chase, and play tug with my foster siblings. They are Danes too but much bigger. It doesn’t stop me. I am brave. I would do well to have other fur siblings in my new home. This situation is a sad one that is found all over the country. We are in desperate need of foster homes. Since we do not have a physical building we rely on people like you to open your homes to help find forever homes for great danes. We are getting daily requests for surrenders and from pups found on the streets. I’m a 9 month old puppy, and came into my foster dad’s house with very few rules. He’s getting me to behave better and I don’t bark at leaves blowing through the yard any more, but I will let you (and anyone close by) know if someone is walking in front of my house. I’m also not great on a leash yet, so I’d probably do best in a single family home with a fenced in backyard. I’ve met the neighbors 6yr old daughter and she’s fun and we get along, but if I get super excited I’d totally bowl her over and win $100,000 on American’s Funniest Home Videos. So I just need to be supervised around the little ones. I live in a house with 3 other dogs ranging from a Frenchie up to another Great Dane and we all get along, sometimes my craziness will earn a growl or bark from another doggo and I back off, but I love getting in the backyard and running, jumping, sniffing around and using up some energy. Dad says a tired puppy is a good puppy. When my humans leave I stay on the upstairs landing with my Frenchie brother. The area is gated off and I have a wide range of toys to chew and play with so I’m good. I’ll be super happy crazy puppy when you come back home though and after a few crazy U-Turns I’ll want to go outside. I’ve had a few accidents in the house, but they were accidents. Some of them I was trying to tell dad I needed to go out and he just didn’t get the message and 1-2 at the beginning was just learning the new routine.
