Knotty Mountain Wellness Services is coming back to the NE WA Fair, August 23, 2024!

We will be set up near the horse barn all day Friday, but like last year this is not limited to horses! We are happy to help most animals and can come to any barn you need us to!

This weekend was our last gymkhana for the year! It was great!

But I feel the need to tell everyone, please DONT EVER hesitate coming to me at an event to work on your horse! I absolutely will as soon as I have time.

A few ponies needed help this weekend and I appreciate you guys finding me, but don't feel bad asking, it's what I do and it's what I LOVE TO DO!!

Well, in my nature of health, my first sinus surgery failed so we get to do it again! It's scheduled for August 16th but they are trying to get me in this month, I should only be down a few days I just wanted warn you guys ahead of time just in case I have to reschedule someone.

Hey friends!
With all the new traffic I'd like to re introduce myself!
My name is Brittney and I'm a mama of 2 boys trying to better my situation just like all of you!

I work 2 jobs! My full time job and massaging critters, so that my boys and I can rodeo and do the things we love!

I work my main job 4 days a week which means I dedicate my Fridays to animals needing massaged.

There are times where I'll schedule after work depending on the location and the need.

In 2011 I graduated with honors from Meredith manor equestrian centre with an equine massage therapy cert!

In 2023- 2024 I went back to school to update all my schooling to follow the laws to practice in washington state ( my first school wasn't recognized by the state board)

I have over 700 hours of schooling and 13 years of experience, and every horse I meet still teaches me something.

No I do not have any gadgets other than my cold laser. I cannot find out what your horse can't tell you through the story of their muscles if my hands themselves aren't reading the book.

Please never hesitate to pm with questions!

Don't let money be the reason your horse lives in pain, I will workout payment plans so they get taken care of.

What is a "knot"?

A knot is also known as a trigger point, where an overexerted muscle bounds up with metabolic waste and lactic acids, it causes blood flow to be interrupted, pain and tenderness.

When we get a sore spot in our neck what do we do? We rub it to try and make it feel better.

Your horse can't do that, so they "act out" biting , kicking, rearing, bucking, any behavior that is abnormal for them is that horse trying to tell you something isn't right.

You would be amazed at the "oh I just think he'll enjoy it" calls that I get, and while I'm working on them, their muscles tell me a whole story about tripping in the field, or twisting their body wrong, and the owners saying wow I didn't know he hurt that bad.

Massage therapy is just that, its therapy, it's retraining your muscle memory back to its original state. Sometimes it takes more than one session yes. But with regular maintenance massages your horse will have a much healthier longer career.

Sassy, 10 year old husky sudden onset paralysis, all the vets all the blood work all the pictures everything short of an mri.

Owners called me with the last little bit of hope.
I got her on an aggressive schedule of massage cold laser and pt and in just a few short months she was running.
Yes it really works!

I am excited to announce that I have passed all my requirements and will be able to start advertising again!!

For those of you that don't know, I had done a 300 hour course in 2011 to massage equines, I practiced for 12 years assuming I was fine, I found out in 2023 that I was not, the state did not recognize my school as an accredited school! So another 10k another 300 hours and in a few days I will be graduating with all my tags that I need!! I want to thank everyone for continuing to support me during this time now let's get back out there and work some ponies!!

I'm rounding third and headed home!!!

I want to thank you all for sticking with me while I stepped back these last 8 months to renew my certificates and bring myself back up to the states standards after changing the laws on me,
I was very disheartened to learn that after 13 years of practicing what I learned in college all those years ago, didn't matter and I wouldn't be grandfathered in to their fancy new regulations.

I have been putting my nose to the grindstone to get this schooling done so I can take my state board tests and start advertising for you guys again! 2 weeks of school left and the state exam is ready when I am......

I'm so ready to cross that timer!!
