Alright, we're doing a new merch order! It'll just be this embroidered logo that Jester is so handsomely modeling. And because I'm doing it in advance this time around, you can pre-order your size/quantity for pretty much anything you want! Hoodies, crew necks, short sleeve, long sleeve, different colors- We can do it all! And we'll get them just in time for the weather to shift to colder days 🍂🍁

Leia was the bravest girl and faced all her fears during a day train this week! With Fall comes the moving decorations seasons, which can be so awesome to work dogs around if they need to build confidence around new objects, or if you just need some new distractions for an already confident dog. Be sure to start slow and use lots of food rewards for the more fearful pups!

It was a very Golden day today! Started off with a private lesson with Tahoe and Riesling to address some new adolescent behaviors with Tahoe, because his 10 month old brain has decided that listening is for suckers...

Then Leia had a Day Train to work on some confidence building and stranger danger issues.

This was the second session for both these dogs and they're already showing tons of improvement! Committed owners who practice what we work on in between sessions are just the best. Gold star for all the goldens! ⭐️🌟⭐️

We love our Adventure Dog class! The best way to practice skills in real life environments!

That's a wrap for our adventure dogs. We hit the streets of Port Gamble, Kingston, Poulsbo, and Silverdale. It's always a fun class out in "the wild" where we have real-life adventures.
📢 Our dogs are our responsibility when we take them in public.
🐾Know when to say "no," advocate advocate advocate for your dog.
🐾Keep a watchful eye always so you can prevent a potential problem. Don't assume the resting dog you're about to pass by is going to be relaxed when you walk by. Don't assume your dog won't react when an approaching dog walks by. Get their attention and reward them for ignoring the dogs.
🐾Always put your dog on the outside when walking by people and dogs. USE TREATS and speed is your friend.
🐾Say NO to on leash greetings. If, for some crazy reason, you have to, use the 3 second rule. Count to 3, and that's it.
🐾 When you are standing still, your dog should be sitting or laying right by your side and not standing behind you, sniffing around.. being in the public is working time.

What's better than a new logo? TWO new logos of course! Grey Fin Design did such a great job with my new logo that I couldn't just choose one. So I didn't! And now there's two equally awesome logos that I absolutely love. Both loosely based on one of my very favorite pics of my girl, Kali Sassafras 💜

We have a local celebrity among us... Eric is now the face of CB's Nuts peanut butter!

Eric first came for training a couple years ago for some pretty serious leash reactivity. He and his owners have worked really hard to get him through it, and he’s gotten to the point where’s he’s been able to help be a calm, neutral dog for other reactive dogs. I’m so proud of Eric for being such a stand up guy (well one ear at least...) and of his owners for putting in all the time and work.

So go head to the peanut butter aisle and grab a jar (Jester certainly can’t wait to crack into this one) and then Eric’s adorable face can be smiling back at you too!

When it's 90+ degrees out, we work on a lot of down stays and learning to chill. We found the shade, and had a seat. It was beautiful 😍

Our next first aid workshop is right around the corner! Come spend some time with Christin Finn DVM and me this Saturday to learn all about treating common injuries and illnesses. As we head into our sunny months it’s always a good idea to get a jump on some first aid knowledge in case any of those fun summer activities go awry.

Plus, Jester makes a special guest appearance to demo restraint, and creating a makeshift muzzle. He’d LOVE to see you!

Wilson and Jester helped Ginger and Ulee figure out how to be calm and neutral around new dogs in a semi-private lesson earlier this week. Even though all 4 of these dogs are friendly, sometimes the best thing we can do is have the dogs not greet each other, and just get to a state of peaceful coexistence where they can be tuned into their handlers.
