I understand that “narcisscism” is a new buzzword that is popping up everywhere. But for people who have actually experienced a narcissistic parent or spouses, it is complete validation.

You see, a narcissist isn’t someone who just doesn’t agree with your choices and so you can call them one to, justify your life decisions..

No, a narcissist is someone who constantly manipulates you into thinking you’re nothing.

A narcissist appears to be perfect on the outside to everyone else and puts on a fake smile and laugh even though they just yelled at you and told you you were worthless 5 minutes earlier.

A narcissist repeatedly claims they “did the best they could” even though they know they hurt you repeatedly.

A narcissist calls you dramatic or too sensitive even though they just gaslighted a reaction out of you. You’re not allowed to have any feelings and when you do, you’re “too much”.

A narcissistic mothers tries to manipulate your father against you and claim that he was the problem the entire time and she did nothing wrong.(did the best she could)

A narcissist incessantly speaks ill of EVERYONE around them. No matter what. I remember vividly of going to friends houses of my parents and as soon as we got in the car, there was a list of everything they did wrong or how they lived their life.

A narcissist is chronically disappointed you, no matter what you do, NOTHING is good enough. Everything could be done better. There is no “I’m proud of you”, “you did a good job”, “I love you and your personality”… it’s always, “well you could have done this better”, “if I was doing this, I would have done this”, “you could have done better here”, “your personality is too much, no one is going to want to be with you”. I can also remember her asking my husband if he was sure he wanted to be in a relationship with me and marry “this”.

A narcissist will NEVER apologize. Even if they know they were the wrong ones. They physically can not. They think much do highly of themselves to actually say the words, “I’m sorry”.

I experienced all of these. My sister did too. So did other family members and friends in our circles. Well, when we had them. It wasn’t unusual for someone to p**s her off or confront her and us all of a sudden be ripped from that relationship.

All of this is trauma.

So, if you’re reading things I post about narcissists and then trying to defend people like this.. it may be a good time for YOU to look in the mirror. And decide if you have these traits.

RUNNING A BREEDING PROGRAM TO A "T"

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work-life balance.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All the while being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed.
It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives.

Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

And know that I love what I do and will go to the end of the earth to do it. 😊

BREEDER: $1,500 USD
POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?
POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You breeders are so over priced.
BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!
BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!
BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average minimal cost $1500 and up). Also a male(average minimal cost $1500 and up) or semen (average $1000 and up). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $750 per dog. Raise and provide daily care and feeding for 2 years.
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...
BREEDER: For $500 you can raise a litter for me and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you also have to pay the cost of whelping & care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.
BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care. Possibly tube or bottle feed puppies every 2-3 hours if the mom is low on milk the first couple weeks.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.
BREEDER: You may also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($200-$500), possibly progesterone testing($75-$250) & a C-section($1000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed. Pups vets exams ($250 and up depending on how many puppies are in the litter)
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!
BREEDER: For $1000 you can buy them.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.
BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. No sick leave. It is a no breaks commitment.

When you choose a professional, you don't only pay for the puppy but also:
Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...
