Yay! All birds made it home safely! The post office that my last shipment went to left a voicemail saying that one of her doves might be dead and to have a nice day. WOW really!? I want everyone here reading this to understand that sadly postal workers get a lot of bird shipments that are not shipped with anything to ensure survival. A sleeping dove in the corner of the carrier is simply that. They don’t understand that we provide 10 days of food and water with electrolytes added. Poor new dove family was so scared by that very careless message. Both doves are very much alive and well as I knew they would be. On their way home the sleeping dove was sitting perched on the food bowl along with their dove friend. Happy ending and new beginning!

Update on shipped doves! All arrived in there states and are making their way toward the post office. 🥰 As expected the pattern is showing that they spend all day at the Airport until about 9:30pm at night. So average transit time really is 2 days with first day spent sitting and waiting for evening flight.

Update: The Kansas dove and Alaska finally made it home this morning. Both are safe and healthy.

Unbelievable. Looking at a live mail route with a precious white dove being transported inside a mail truck. USPS tracking says she is inside a facility but I am watching her being driven like regular mail. Which is against their own rules. She is a “hold for pick up” Priority Mail Express. Do they read? No apparently not. So once again, their tracking is a lie. I am so glad that is in the 60s right now over there. WOW..just wow.

Update: They delivered her like regular mail.

Awesome all carriers have made it to their states including Alaska! No official deliveries quite yet but it’s still early! When the Alaska shipment made it to the Memphis HUB that is when things got a little quiet. However I now know it is because he was on a long flight at that point. So cool being able to really track all of them. Totally worth it!
