While the holidays bring all the cozy vibes, some festive plants and greens can cause real trouble for pets. From mild tummy upset to serious, life-threatening reactions, it’s important to know what doesn’t belong within paw’s reach.

🌿 Also worth noting:
Pine needles (yes, from living Christmas trees and wreaths) aren’t always toxic, but they can irritate the mouth, stomach, and intestines, especially for cats and curious pups. The needles are sharp, the sap can be irritating, and fallen pieces are easy to ingest.

There’s a new pet store in town, and it’s called in Edgewater!

The shop opened just 3 weeks ago and already has a well chosen selection of quality essentials for both cats and dogs — the kind of items you actually reach for, not the random filler collecting dust on shelves.

I grabbed a couple of bags of wheat-free soft chews for our senior fur clients living their “soft food era”, and they’re going to be obsessed!!

But truly, the star is Rachel herself- warm, genuine, and dedicated to serving our community with care.

When you stop in for a quick 30-minute hangout with the pups… but guess who clocked in for cuddles? Brownie the cat.

Yes, Brownie—the same mysterious feline who usually prefers the “do not disturb” setting. He asked for scritches, joined the playtime, and totally made my day. When a cat who usually keeps to himself comes looking for you? That’s not just a visit—that’s an honor.

Belle’s the definition of chill. At 16 years young, she’s perfected the art of slow living — napping in sunbeams, accepting hand-fed treats, and purring so softly it feels calming.

Funny thing is, I used to be a cat magnet for all the wrong reasons (bites, scratches, hissing, and side-eye). But somewhere along the way, I started earning their trust — and now I get to hang out with cats like Belle, who remind me the wait is worth it. Heck yeah it is.
