Millie and Grace are two of our very first clients who have had strong opinions about us caring for them when their owners were traveling.

Make no mistake, it wasn’t always pretty and I’ve been growled at, bitten several times, swatted with gushing open wounds but with time, here we are.

I learned to meet them where they are and stopped imposing my bubbly interactive self on them.
Animal reiki made a significant change in their outlook towards the visits and they slowly learned to trust.
Fast forward to today- they both eat treats from my hand, climb into my lap, curl up on my feet and also play. It’s been a long journey but well worth the wait.

We understand that every animal has their own personality, history, and boundaries. It’s our job to honor their individuality and show up with patience, kindness, and the willingness to listen.
For anyone feeling like progress is impossible—whether it’s with a nervous pet, a personal struggle, or a tough day—know that with hope and determination, beautiful breakthroughs can happen.

Have you taken your dog to Doris Leeper Preserve?
We pet sat Max for the day and spent hours exploring the preserve. It was AMAZING- he had a blast and even met an owl! Definitely worth visiting!

Next he came back to our place where he played with his first squeaky toy, ever. The kid had smiles for hours over it and even took it home! His love for the garden though…his fidgety self transformed into a chill, content statue who didn’t want to leave.
It was a perfect day for a perfect pup!!

Animals are so entertaining!

Urgent: Help Us Find a Loving Home for Annie, Morty, and Lulu 💔🐾

Three wonderful cats—Annie, Mortimer (Morty), and Lulu—are in urgent need of a new, caring home after their owner recently passed away. We had the privilege of knowing their owner personally; she was a true animal lover who rescued everything from turtles to cats and dogs. Animals meant everything to her, and her cats are now grieving her loss. Our mission is to find them a comforting, loving environment where they can heal and thrive.

Meet Annie & Morty 😻😽
Annie, the beautiful white cat, is 3 years old, friendly, and playful, though she also appreciates her personal space. She’s healthy and has a sweet personality that would warm any home. Her best friend, Morty, is a sleek black cat with a gentle soul. Rescued from the streets, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves chest cuddles and gentle brushing. Morty is a little shy, especially due to early signs of macular degeneration, which affects his focus in bright light and around quick movements. Annie and Morty find deep comfort in each other’s company, so we’d love to see them stay together.

Meet Lulu 🌸
Lulu, a lovely spotted 10-year-old, is an affectionate cat who absolutely adores human contact. Interactive and sweet, she’s also a stress eater—a quirk that only adds to her charm. As a single-pet companion, she would be the perfect match for a household looking for an endlessly loving furry friend.

This is an urgent situation. These cats are ready to bring joy, warmth, and companionship to a new home and deserve a place filled with love as they work through this difficult time. Halloween can be a fun time for humans, but for pets, it can be filled with surprises that aren’t always pleasant. Here are some tips to keep everyone happy:

Is that the doorbell AGAIN?
Every “Ding-dong!” means one thing: intruder alert. As the 20th trick-or-treater arrives, our pets are thinking, “Please, make it stop!” Halloween brings doorbells ringing all night, loud parties, and people in costumes—elements that can be unsettling. For a pet used to calm surroundings, all this unfamiliar activity can trigger anxiety, barking, or attempts to hide.
This Halloween, a cozy room with a blanket fort and some treats is their dream plan. 🎃
White noise machines, calming music, interactive toys to keep them busy and CBD oil are great options for a chill, happy pet.

Potential Ingestion of Toxic Treats
Chocolate, xylitol (a common artificial sweetener), and certain candies are toxic to pets, but to curious paws, it’s just free treats on every corner. Keep that sweet stash high and out of reach!

Costume Cat-astrophes
Sure, Fido looks like the cutest little hot dog, but he’s not so into the costume life. If they look uncomfortable, swap the cape and tights for a simple bandana—trust us, they’ll be just as cute, minus the grumpiness! 🌭🐕

I’m Outta Here!
All those people coming and going? For some pets, that’s the perfect moment to sneak out the door! Make sure everyone knows to keep an eye out for curious escape artists, or even set up a gate to keep things contained. 🎃

Haunted House Décor That’s a Little Too Real…
Motion-activated witches and eerie decorations are Halloween musts for us but nightmare fuel for our pets. A less jumpy, cozy vibe with pet-friendly decor will give them a safe (and sane) Halloween. 🕸️💀

Halloween is even better when our pets feel safe and happy!

Meet Brooks, our newest client!
His owner was heading up north for a few days and had never left his cat alone, they’re best buds. His biggest concerns was that Brooks wouldn’t come out of hiding and wouldn’t eat, would worry and be lonely. All valid concerns.

On my first visit Brooks came out & ate treats from my hand. Day 2, I brushed him. Day 3, he climbed into my lap and I gave him a head massage (def had a girl crush after) and started blocking the door so I’d stay. Day 4, he rolled over on his side with one paw on my knee and wanted a belly rub. 😂

We worry so much about our pets but they’re a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. His owner was worried, meanwhile, Brooks is schmoozing with the pet sitter!

Animals I tell ya, they’re a hoot.

Lily’s one year passing was on Wednesday and I can honestly say I’m still in love with her.
She is my soul dog and although her journey took her beyond this life, somehow, she feels more present than ever. It’s strange how love can linger, how it can weave itself into the fabric of your soul, even when the one you love is no longer beside you.

There’s something profoundly humbling in knowing that she’s still with me, in ways I can’t explain. I feel her in the way the morning light filters through the window, in the stillness of the evening, and in the spaces between breaths. Love like that, it doesn’t fade with time. It’s a kind of love that remains untouched, eternal, and pure, a reminder of the deep, unspoken connection that animals bring into our lives.

Lily’s spirit continues to teach me that love doesn’t disappear; it simply changes form. She has shown me how beautiful it is to carry someone with you, even after they’re gone. There’s a peace in that—a peace I hope many of you have found in your own relationships with the animals who have touched your hearts.

Meet our newest client, Louie!!

Louie, my 12-year-old wingman, is the sweetest, most loyal pup you’ll ever meet. He has a way of turning every walk into a social event, flashing his big smile and stopping to say hi to everyone, like he’s the mayor of the beach! Louie’s charm is irresistible.

His true love? The ocean. This guy dives straight into the waves like a pro surf dog, as if he’s been riding them his whole life! No hesitation, just pure joy. When he’s not swimming, you’ll find him right by my side, making sure we’re connected—literally! Louie’s love language is all about touch and time. He needs to be with you, curled up close, soaking up every minute of affection.

During the four days we spent together, we shared every sunrise and sunset on the beach, cuddled up like we were the only two in the world. Whether we were walking, swimming, or simply sitting together in the sand, Louie’s loyalty and sweet spirit shone through.

We know that every dog has their own unique way of showing love, and we’re here to honor that in every moment. Whether your pet is a social butterfly, an ocean-loving surf dog, or a cuddle bug, we tailor our care to their every need. Louie taught me that the best moments are the ones spent side by side, and that’s exactly the kind of loving he got!

Candles flickering, incense burning, essential oils diffusing- we love that vibe but what’s relaxing for us can be downright harmful for our pets.

Here are some common products that could actually be harming your furry best friends—and what you can do to keep them safe! 🐶🐱

* Candles: Those lavender and pumpkin spice candles? Great for us, toxic to them. Many candles release chemicals like benzene and toluene, which can harm your pets’ respiratory systems. Not to mention, curious paws + open flames = a fire hazard. 😬🔥
* Incense: Sure, it gives off zen vibes, but incense produces smoke that can irritate your pets’ sensitive lungs. Prolonged exposure can lead to respiratory issues like asthma, especially in cats. 🐱💨 You don’t want your pet coughing up anything but hairballs, trust me.
* Essential Oils: Many popular oils like tea tree, eucalyptus, and peppermint can cause reactions ranging from skin irritation to liver damage. Your pets don’t have the enzymes to break down these compounds, making these oils far more dangerous for them than you might think.

Switch to pet-safe candles: Look for candles made from soy or beeswax with natural, pet-friendly scents like vanilla or cedar.
Use air purifiers: A quiet air purifier does wonders for keeping your home fresh and eliminates odors without the risk.
Natural alternatives: Simmering pet-safe herbs like rosemary or thyme on the stove will naturally freshen your home without chemicals, plus it’s great for your pet’s well-being. You can even throw a cut apple with a few cinnamon sticks in there, smells sooooo good!

Charley is a photographer lover’s dream! Perfect muse. This pup is so photogenic that I turned into a paparazzi. Guilty. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Does anyone else do this??

I had the pleasure of hanging with Charley for five days, and let me tell you, he’s got personality for days. One minute, he’s fiercely independent and bursting with energy, and the next, he’s giving you that look like, “Really? You think we’re going that way?” And then, just like that, he’s out cold in the car all within six minutes.
Love me a good multitasker!

Here’s the thing—Charley didn’t start off totally chill. He had anxiety at first, so we brought out the big guns: animal reiki. A few soothing vibes later, and boom, he was relaxed, happy, and ready for his close-up. It’s moments like these that make me love what I do—every pet is unique, and it’s all about figuring out what makes them tick (or, in Charley’s case, what makes them strike a pose).

Between playing photographer, calming nerves, and keeping up with his whirlwind energy, beach dates, fun outings, fetch, fetch, fetch, and loads-a lovin’, I’d say we had a pretty awesome time. If you’re looking for someone who gets your pet, is fluent in animal body language (people too), and knows how to roll with their quirks, consider this your VIP invite.

Cruising on the river last night in celebration of the Harvest full moon. On one side the sky was glowing with twinkling lights coming from the lighthouse. SURREAL. Dolphins & manatees stopped by to say hi too. On the other side was the orange moon against a dark sky!

The contrast gave me all the feels. We’re so lucky to have all this beauty right in our backyard!

Our clients were heading out of town for 10 days and had never left their cats with anyone. They were fearful their girls would hide the whole time, get dehydrated, hunger strike or lash out. Reiki session with Tilly who’s been anxious and fearful. During the session, her body softened as her stress melted away, breathing slowed down significantly. She inched in closer and closer until she was draped snugly on me with her head nuzzled on my neck and dozed off. Her eyes are brighter too and she’s super content.
