Meet Ralphie and Remy!
Ralphie is a super handsome 2 year old grey/white neutered male. Remy is Ralphie's "brother from another mother" and is an adorable 1 year old DSH/Gray and White Tabby neutered male.

Ralphie and Remy are the longest residents at the shelter. These youngsters were rescued as stray kittens and they haven't completely overcome their shyness around people. Even though they are nervous in new situations, they have not shown any aggression. With their similar purr-sonalities, they have become very bonded and sleep, play and eat together. With a little patience and time, shy cats like these cuties can make loyal, loving companions. Ralphie and Remy would do best in a quiet home with an older person or couple.

Meet Hank!

Hank is a super nice and very good looking tuxedo boy. He greets every visitor that comes to the shelter. He can be selective about his feline friends and may do best as an only cat, but he's curious about dogs and may do fine with a cat friendly dog. Handsome Hank would adjust to a new home quickly as he is a happy and sociable fella.

Milo is a handsome, friendly Siamese mix with big expressive blue eyes. Milo came to PAL after his owner passed away. Milo enjoyed a quiet indoor only home as the only pet and we would love to find him a similar living situation. Frita has been adopted!!

Frita - Unique Dark Calico

Frita is a very pretty calico who came to the shelter with little history. She is very compatible with the other cats at the shelter and would enjoy a home with another playful cat. If you are considering two, she is has a couple friends currently at the shelter! She is friendly but undemanding and would be a great companion for a person who does not need a high maintenance pet. Frita's favorite pastime is sitting in the window and bird watching. This beautiful Calico girl would love to be in her new home on her tall kitty condo looking out the window just in time to greet the spring birdies!

Hello PAL Friends and Followers! We just want to take a moment to thank our wonderful adopters and donors for their continued support of our shelter. Placing cats and kittens in the BEST homes is and always will be our FIRST priority. Our cats and kittens are FELV/FIV (combo) tested and vaccinated and their purr-sonalities are evaluated so that we can place them in the most appropriate homes.

PAL carefully reviews each application, speaks to adopters, and checks on the quality of care provided to previous pets during the application review process. It is a lengthy and time-consuming process but we are not about just adopting our animals out first come-first serve. This means that not everyone will be approved to adopt and not every application will be considered. As with most shelters, PAL has the discretion to deny any application for any reason. We do this in the best interest of the cats/kittens in our care.

It's unfortunate when people who are not approved to adopt send nasty emails and post negative reviews on FB or other social media, and while this is hurtful to the shelter, we think it just further justifies our decision to deny their application.

This is the nature of adopting our cats/kittens from a very small, all volunteer shelter that puts the health and well being of the animals FIRST. Our goal is to strive to chose the best possible forever homes for the cats and kittens in our care.

Thank you to all of our adopters who have waited patiently for PAL to review their application and match them with their lifetime cat/kitten. We truly appreciate you.

Meet Yuki!

Yuki was surrendered to the shelter because of “family issues.” Besides being very pretty, she is a sweet natured cat. It may take her a few days to adapt to her new home, but she turns into a “lovebug” once she feels comfortable.

Yuki is 2 years old and is strictly an inside companion. She has never lived with other cats or dogs. Yuki was scared when she first came to the shelter, but her lovely disposition has emerged.

Meet Lexi!

Lexi was surrendered to the shelter. She is a very pretty 4 year old black/white female. Lexi is shy until she gets to know you. She now feels comfortable with the shelter staff. Meet Buster!

Buster came to the shelter as a stray from a local town. He has never shown any aggression but he was very shy initially. Buster is still shy but the shelter staff can pet him now (which we think he actually likes). His favorite time of the day is canned food time and that is when we try to interact with him to earn his trust. He is a very handsome tuxedo young male. He is great with the other cats so he would make a wonderful companion for another cat. We are hoping someone will give this shy boy a home.

Turbo is a very handsome slate gray neutered male who is very athletic and energetic. He is not a "couch potato." He is a cat who needs an active life style. For that reason we are trying to find him a home as a "friendly barn cat" or a home where he can definitely be an indoor/outdoor pet. Turbo is friendly but can get over stimulated if he receives too much attention. He needs a home with no young children - and - a home with people that have some cat experience. He came to the shelter as a stray from a local town. He has tested negative for leukemia/aids, vaccinated and neutered. Turbo needs the freedom of the great outdoors to expend some of his energy.

Levi came to the shelter as a stray from a local town. Again we don’t understand why his family was not searching for him. He was neutered and he is a very nice boy. Although we do not know his exact age; he has a youthful and playful disposition. Levi is quite handsome and polydactyl(extra toes). He is compatible with the other cats at the shelter. We think he may have missed many meals when he was a stray because he LOVES mealtimes.

Bruschi

Bruschi’s Story

Bruschi is the perfect name for this handsome hunk of a cat. It is time to send this fella to his forever home. He came to the shelter as a scared, grumpy stray feline with a hip injury. We think he probably had been hit by a car. He is now healthy, neutered and his hip injury has healed however he has a residual slight limp in his right rear leg. Bruschi’s personality has mellowed and he now loves attention and neck rubs. He is not demanding and quite happy with life. We think he would do best in a home where he could be the only pet companion and no young children. He appears to be more comfortable with women(perhaps he had a bad experience with a man in the past). The way to his heart is through his tummy. He LOVES to eat (we are watching his diet as he is getting a little chubby). His dream home would be one with a screened porch or a fenced yard. Because he has been here at the shelter for so long; I take him on supervised walks outside. He stays right with me and scampers back inside when we are done. He had a difficult life before coming to the shelter. With kindness and understanding, he will make a wonderful feline companion in the right home.

Holiday Greetings from all of us at PAL
Celebrating 30 years

30 Years! 10,000 Adopted Cats!

People for Animals League celebrated 30 years of helping homeless cats this year! PAL is immensely proud of finding homes for over 10,000 cats since we started our small, home based cat shelter in 1989!

PAL is small but mighty!! Our organization has existed with the help and support of a very small, very dedicated group of foster homes, volunteers, and regular donors. Our primary focus has always been helping animals from our local communities, working closely with several of our local animals control officers. PAL often takes in orphaned kittens, pregnant moms, older cats or cats requiring “extra” veterinary care. These kitties stay until they find their forever homes.

We LOVE what we do and rely on the generous support of our community to continue our mission of savings and re-homing local cats!

This year’s Holiday wish is to raise $3,000 for the PAL cats - $100 for each of our 30 years!
