Mr. Casey Ray was at the vets office again today getting his second distemper/Pavo vaccine as well as more heartworm prevention and flea treatment for the next month and while he was back there, they decided to go ahead and trim his nails as a courtesy because they love this sweet puppy.
He has grown so much in the past three weeks. He now weighs 9.7 pounds he is really a good puppy.
We think it’s awful that he’s blind, but he doesn’t know any different and he is running around playing all the time and he is living his best life ever.

This is an updated picture of a puppy that was adopted from us way back when we had just started Miracle Acres Fosters he was such a cute and sweet little puppy now look at him, all handsome, and starting to look a little bit like an “old man”
Notice the hand of the child that is also in the picture a long time ago when this dog (puppy) was adopted the lady had no children, but now she does it does our heart good too know that this handsome boy has been promoted to “big k-9 brother “

Our “branch manager” says that the day is going rather well around here today and she is happy to report that there was no major issue found with the air conditioning unit yesterday. The fuse seems to have vibrated itself out of the box on the side of the air conditioning unit we are figuring it probably happened, because of quite a few times of heavy thunder, making everything around here lately

Just hanging out on a very beautiful Friday afternoon waiting for the air conditioner man to come check the air conditioner unit since it’s having an issue again

We took Casey Ray to get a wellness check done and get his eyes checked by the veterinarian at the Magnollia veterinarian hospital in Anderson, South Carolina this morning.
The vet confirmed he is seven weeks old and he weighs a whopping 7.4 pounds. He is a blue merle dachshund mix just as we suspected
The veterinarian looked at his eyes, as well as we were blessed to have gone on a day that there was a surgery scheduled for an optometrist to come in for a different animal, and she was able to look at him before she started Surgery on the other Animal and she said that Casey is blind in both eyes and that until he’s older, it would not be able to be determined if he can see shadows and there’s nothing that could be done for his eyes that is a common occurrence in Blue merle Dashboards
Casey Ray will become our handicap mascot here at Miracle Acres Fosters
While we were at the veterinary hospital, we went ahead and got him his first vaccination and we’re scheduled to go back in three weeks to get him his booster

Mr Casey is a six week old Weiner dog mix.
He was found by a lady on a dirt Road no one lives on
She picked him up and when she did, she noticed that there is issues with his eyes.
She called us for help and we took him in.
We have an appointment for him at Magnollia veterinary hospital in Anderson, South Carolina on Wednesday, August 21 to get his eyes looked at to see if there’s anything they can do to help him get at least a small amount of vision because at this point it looks as if he is completely blind
He is such a sweet happy puppy and is doing good learning to follow his little paths around the house and he has fun playing with the other dogs here at Miracle Acres Fosters
When it’s time for him to go potty, we carry him outside and put him in the yard so that he can go potty outside and then we carry him back into the house. We will eventually be doing our best to teach him how to go up and down steps but For right now, we’re just teaching him some basics and then we will continue teaching him more things as he gets older and bigger
Anyone wishing to help with the expenses for his care you can either donate to our Venmo. We will put the QR code in the pictures (if you have any issues with finding our account please let us know) or you can directly call the Magnollia veterinarian Hospital - we will put their contact information in the pictures as well

If you send a donation for him, please note that it is for Casey Ray Tredway that is the name he is noted as having at the Magnolia veterinarian Hospital they don’t put Miracle Acres Fosters for his last name they put our last name for his last name)

Thank you in advance to all who are able to help

This is Mr. Rocky. (The black one) He is 3 1/2 months old He is the littlest one of the bottle babies playing with six week old Mr. Casey, who was found by A mail lady on a dirt road abandoned it’s bad enough that someone abandons a six week old puppy, but what ads even more horror and discussed to the matter is the fact that Mr. Casey was born with eyes that had not properly developed and from what we’re understanding right now he is blind we will be working with the vet to see if there’s anything we can do to help him have at least a little bit of eyesight or if he is going to be completely blind, his whole entire life

This is our old cat miss turtle
She is the only cat that is allowed to come outside the house. She comes out and sits on the porch and watches the day go by
The other cats are required to stay inside the house.

About Miracle Acres fosters

Miracle Acres Fosters is a solely volunteer based 501-c3 non-profit organization located on 5 acres in the country side of South Carolina, that provides direct care and recuses dogs in crisis. Opened in 2016 by AJ and Elizabeth Tredway after many years of fostering for other recuses, continuing our success of helping over 400 dogs. Our mission is to rescue, rehab and rehome abused, neglected or abandoned dogs and help them to recover from the trauma they have experienced while preparing them to find the right forever home. We also have a passion for hospice dogs, we take them into our family and give them a happy life and loving home until it is time for them to go over the rainbow bridge. We currently have a fully fenced in lot for the dogs to run and play, a swimming pond, and some heated outdoor kennels. Our goal is to build a bigger shelter to save more animals, a bathing center and provide a birthing room for all the pregnant dogs we recuse. These animals deserve a good home and we can only meet this goal by donations. All monetary donations go directly to the care of these and future animals.

We’d like to also thank the recuse group who took us under their wing and let us foster for them, while learning more about running a non-profit dog rescue. They have helped us follow our dreams and open our own rescue which has led to more dogs being recused.
