I am thrilled to share an update this week, highlighting a remarkable milestone in a client of mine! This week, we shine the spotlight on Ada and her training journey. For those who have been keeping up, you’ll know that Ada and I have embarked on this journey together through private sessions. Ada, a rescue, arrived with some hesitations, particularly around strangers — more so with men who have hats and beards. The cornerstone of teaching any new behavior is consistency, and Ada’s mom has shown unparalleled commitment. She has been instrumental in navigating Ada through her anxieties and apprehensions about unfamiliar people. We are glad to announce that Ada had successfully completed our Middle School 101 program. But that’s not all — we witnessed a breakthrough! During a session, a fellow canine student was accompanied by their father, whom Ada had never met. To our delight, Ada approached him with poise, courage, and, most importantly, without any signs of fear. These are the moments that truly underscore the value of our work. 💕

𝗔𝘁 𝟭𝟭 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀: Making Moments with Potato 🥔
Playtime + training = a cooked Potato.
So, what should you be doing with a pup at 11 weeks?
1. Positive Socialization: Introduce your 11-week-old to new environments, people, and gentle experiences. Make sure they have age appropriate vaccines!
2. Basic Training: Start with commands like sit & down, using positive reinforcement for a well-behaved pup. Potato & I worked on down today! But we captured & reinforced a lot of engagement.
3. Establish a Routine: Set a schedule for feeding, playtime, and potty breaks to create a sense of security. Dogs like patterns & routines!
4. Provide Stimulation: Age-appropriate toys for mental engagement and supervised interactions with other pets.
Remember, patience and consistency are the keys to shaping a happy and well-adjusted fur baby! Potato is settling in nicely..

Elevate your dog training game! 🐾 When extending the distance during the "stay" command, avoid mixed signals. Many clients inadvertently confuse their dogs by calling them over immediately after increasing distance. While you see it as celebrating their stationary success, your dog might interpret it as a break from the stay. Opt for a clearer approach – gradually increase distance, pause, then calmly approach your pup to reinforce the stay. This ensures a solid understanding and strengthens the "stay" element. 🏋️♂️ #DogTrainingProTips #ClearCommunication #FunctionalTrainingAdvice
Do you have a mouthy teenager? And no, I’m not talking about the human variety! 🐾🐶
Around 6-12 months old, dogs enter what we affectionately call the “teenage phase.” During this stage, you might notice some regression in their training and the emergence of new, sometimes undesirable behaviors. BREATHE – it’s completely normal for most dogs!
Meet Pipi, our prime example. We’ve been diligently working with her through her development, and at 9 months old, she started showing some interesting behavior – tugging and biting on her leash, as seen in the first video. But we knew we needed to address this.
In the video, you can see us teaching Pipi a “leave it” cue. Every time she chooses to release her grip on the leash when she’s tempted to play with it, she’s rewarded with high-value treats. As she becomes more reliable, we’ll transition to using a tug toy, which she’ll find equally rewarding and, more importantly, appropriate! Life rewards, like playtime, are a fantastic way to maintain long-term training success.
Remember, it’s all part of the growing process for your canine companion. With patience and consistent training, you and your pup can navigate the teenage phase together and come out even stronger on the other side! 🐕🎾 #dogtraining #dogs #fyp #explore #dogsofinstagram
🚪🐾 Training Reina in Impulse Control: Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to door-dashing! Impulse control training helps dogs like Reina resist the urge to rush through thresholds, ensuring their safety. Did you know that this training not only prevents accidents but also strengthens the bond between owner and dog? 🧡 Watch as Reina waits obediently for her release cue – a testament to her progress!
Embrace the joy of leash walking! 🚶♀️🐕 It’s the perfect blend of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Meet Bixby, who once tugged her parents in every direction. Now, see her walking beautifully by her mom’s side, engaged and focused! Bixby is on the path to success. 🌟
💡Did you know? Dogs have several natural instincts, and shredding is one of them.
When a dog's natural instincts go unfulfilled, they often resort to destructive behavior as an outlet.
Have you ever noticed your furry friend enthusiastically tearing apart their toys or even indulging in a pillow-pulverizing session like Luna in this heartwarming video? It's a common behavior among our canine companions, and it's essential to understand why.
So, what's the solution? Redirecting that shredding instinct towards a more suitable outlet!
By providing Luna with an appropriate means to shred, we're giving her the enrichment she craves. And the best part? It keeps her happily occupied without wreaking havoc on mom's decor!
Studies have shown that engaging dogs in shredding enrichment activities can reduce anxiety and boredom, leading to a decrease in destructive behaviors by up to 60% 📈
Shred away, Luna!

Whether it's joggers with strollers, ducks, or anything else, Cork's staying cool, calm, and collected. 🚶♂️🦆

These babies are hard at work learning invaluable skills to create not only a solid foundation in obedience, but strong bonds with their parents! They’ve come a long way, great work!
🐾How can I get my dog’s behavior like that? 🐶 This question pops up frequently, stemming from diverse reasons or situations. The key lies in Compassion & Consistency. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and the same goes for your dog’s behavior or any counter conditioning you’re pursuing with the guidance of a professional trainer. It is, within itself, a labor of love! The magic lies in dedicated practice. Your bond with your furry companion will flourish as a result! 💕✨🐾
🚗 Learning impulse control is not only essential for development in young dogs, but helps to ensure their safety in the future! Here, I’m working with Pipi on not dashing out of the car door. She did beautifully! 🐶
Krypto: learning the art of relaxation! 🐾🌟 This awesome cue “place” gives him a special job—to keep calm and carry on, instead of reacting over every dog or mailman that crosses our path! It’s like a stress-relief program for our furry friend, turning his anxiety into pure zen vibes. 🧘♂️🌟 Together, we’re rewriting the rules of doggie behavior, one chilled-out moment at a time. ❤️
We ❤️ foraging! Foraging is one your dogs natural instincts. Tapping into this creates an amazing source of enrichment and mental stimulation for your pup. Dogs have a whopping 100 million scent receptors. (That’s over 40 times more than what we humans have!) The information they pick up then gets sent to the olfactory system — this is helping them process the world through their noses, much like how we see the world through our eyes! There are many benefits to letting your dog forage and sniff:• Engages the brain 🧠 • Proven to reduce cognitive decline as they mature • Potent stress reliever And much more. So let your dog sniff and forage, they’ll thank you for it!
When making frozen Kong treats we always make sure Willow gets to lick the spoon!
🐾 Mental exercise is just as essential as physical exercise! Mental stimulation is a crucial part of any dogs life. Often times boredom can lead to destructive, and undesirable behaviors around the house.
One of my favorite tools to achieve this (especially for a learning and growing puppy like Jessica) are puzzles! Here we have a basic puzzle game that I placed high value treats in! Jessica is not only getting much needed mental stimulation, but through this simple game it helps tap into her natural instinct of dissecting and foraging. Great job! 👏
