The remaining survivors swim through the fuselage to an exit hole, where they encounter a shark. Ava uses bubbles from her life vest to deter the shark, and it disappears. Kyle is attacked by the shark, allowing the rest to exit. Ava gives the last two air tanks to Danilo and Rosa, and they float to the surface. Ava spots the shark heading towards her and, without oxygen, exits through the hole. The wreckage slides off the cliff and into the dark abyss below, possibly with the shark inside. Ava runs out of oxygen but her life vest carries her up, and she miraculously awakens on the surface. She finds Rosa's stuffed animal floating in the water, but the other survivors are nowhere to be seen. A rescue helicopter arrives, carrying her and Danilo and Rosa. The pilot asks if there's anyone else, but Ava simply embraces her and they cry together. Rosa tosses her stuffed animal back into the ocean as a tribute to her grandparents and other dead passengers.
