Below is a link to USGS Willamette River Water Data, with testing spots at two locations in Portland. You can select Cyanobacteria among many other helpful metrics, as well as sign up for alerts. Other bodies of water can also be searched but not all are as actively monitored. It is a very handy page for outdoor swimming, humans and dogs alike.

A special shout out goes to Pepper, who is 20lbs lighter since she began swimming. She isn't quite at her goal yet, but watching the transformation so far is inspiring. Every week that float coat has to be tightened more. Keep up the amazing work.
