Hey y’all! Wanted to share some recent health news, some reflections and an upcoming change. I’ve been debating sharing this and have decided to share this with y’all.
Since I got back from a vacation in the beginning of November, I’ve been experiencing some pain and fatigue. It has been soooo much fun, jklol! After a drs appointment last week, I have officially been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It’s nice to finally have a diagnosis and am happy it gives me a direction to go for research. That being said, I’m exhausted and frustrated. Im in excruciating whole body pain, weak and fatigued at times. I’m 37 and have already dealt with a super fun ulcerative colitis flare up that put me in the hospital for a week and a half, a few months ago. I say this not for pity or to seek attention. I don’t even know if I’ll lose business from sharing this. But, I’m sharing for those of us who are dealing with many health battles at once; you are not alone. I’m still learning how to adjust and figure out how to and what to ask for. I want to thank those of you who have expressed care upon learning of my recent health battles! It means the absolute world.
All this to say, I can’t keep going at this pace; it just isn’t sustainable. I haven’t figured out how all this is going to work, but I know for certain that I will be taking more time off this upcoming year. I adore what I do for a living. I get to take care of amazing dogs and cats and damn, am I lucky. As much as I love it, I have to rest so I can care for all of the pups and kitties and my amazing clients.

Y’all, meet Bill! Bill is here for an evaluation to see if he’s a good fit for camp. So far, he’s charmed the pants off the other dogs, piddled a few times and was very excited to find the water bowl! I’d say we’re off to a solid start🥰

My Teddy Bear and Max are the oldest and youngest dogs at camp today. But don’t let that fool you- Teddy, who rarely plays with another dog, is obsessed with Max! We have to keep Teddy from playing too much as he’s at risk of tearing his doggie ACL again, but we let them have a few romps throughout the day. It’s so adorable to watch these two and their shenanigans!

Sunny and Lily are two of the happiest kids out there! I caught this precious moment between the two of them as they were taking a break and my goodness, my heart swelled. So adorable! I’m so fortunate to have my Lily Bear who is wonderful with all the dogs and Miss Sunny Davis who wins Miss Congeniality everywhere she goes. Do I have the best job, or what!!

Forever grateful. I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my life. I’m not sure how I got so lucky, but I’ll take it. Thank you to everyone who has checked in on me and the family, spent time talking with me when I needed a listening ear and for all those who’ve sent love, flowers and well wishes. I know this health flare up will subside, hopefully soon, but knowing I have such a wonderful groups of friends makes all the difference in the world. Love you all so much!

Ulcerative colitis is no joke (been dealing with since 14 yrs old) and it got to the point I needed more care than I could get at home. Here for more steroids (oh joy!), a mini procedure and maybe start new meds. Thank you to everyone who has reached out- there’s a chance I’ll be here another night. Massive thanks to my parents who are helping take care of the dogs while I’m away.
