Another Siljar daughter is becoming a riding horse! Vivian is maybe the easiest horse we have ever started. Yesterday was the first time with a rider on and only the third time with a saddle on.
With this cross Siljar contributed more of his build, his size and highly influenced the disposition. She is definitely a keeper for us and are excited what the future holds for her.

We did some spring cleaning in Siljar's paddock and he had the chance to play in the big paddock along the creek after his workout until his paddock was ready. It was a great opportunity to snap some pictures. Of course, we are just starting to thaw out here and as our property is mostly wetlands, it's wet and muddy.
Still, Siljar is handsome as always!

This year we didn't have any Siljar foals at our farm, because Siljar was leased out in 2019 to Dun In Farm in Michigan, who got three beautiful Siljar foals with different colors (grey c**t, white c**t, brown filly). For 2021 we are expecting two Siljar foals to be born at our place out of Ani by Peppertree's Christian/Smedsmo Graen and out of Vikkelsoe's Kunst by Max/Hovdaren (owned by Wendy Bauwens).

Dungård's only Siljar foal this year turns out to be an absolute beauty! DD Jorina is out of Havenwood's Jorun (by Anvil's Lyst) and just got it all... the elegance, refinement, excellent bone, amazing eye and a lot presence!

Siljar and his adventures in the Midwest! He got to learn how to jump a breeding phantom to ship fresh-collected semen for your Fjord mare within the USA and Canada! He was "the perfect gentleman" like always ;-)

Sølvar is a coming 3 year old stallion by Siljar out of OH Zaria by Fløtren. He is a full grey dun and can produce white duns as well. He was Siljar's first foal.

This is another awesome Siljar foal, born in 2017 out of Tulia by Snowy's Cosmo. His registered name is Frodo Hrimfaxi, he is a white dun just like his daddy and already stands 14.3hh at 20 months! He has a matching big personality and is everything his owner has hoped for. 😊

Mr. Siljar left Dungård on Thursday to face new adventures over the next year in Michigan. He is currently laying over in Montana to wait for a better weather window to continue his trip and will arrive in Capac, Michigan this coming Wednesday/Thursday. We are wishing Pat and Warren Hofert as much fun with him as we have had and are super excited about his foals we are expecting at Dungård next year, but also about Hoferts foals in the following year. Siljar will be available for breeding to outside mares via live cover or cooled fresh semen in Capac, Michigan during the 2019 breeding season.

It's time to say goodbye .... soon.... but we still have a litte bit of time together here in Washington, before Siljar is going to Pat and Warren Hofert in Capac, Michigan for the 2019 breeding season. I am hoping that a lot of people in the Midwest take this opportunity to get their 2020 Siljar foal. He will be available via live cover and Pat and Warren will ship fresh-chilled semen across North America as well. We are looking forward for him coming home in 2020.

It has been quiet around Siljar for the last months, but he was staying busy breeding mares. He has 4 mares confirmed in foal so far, three of them were maiden mares.
He is feeling really good after a chiropractic adjustment last Monday. Now he will be back to full time training.

Yesterday, we worked with Siljar, who had a bit of a break in his training during the last month. He was fun to ride like always and afterwards we celebrated his 5th Birthday with some cookies and carrots! Happy Birthday Siljar!!! 🥕🥂🎉🎁

Siljar had his first PEMF session today (and his riders too).
"The PEMF device sends a pulsing magnetic field through the coil, deep into the body. As the pulsing magnetic field pulses on, the cell membrane is gently pulled by the magnetic field. On the off phase of the pulse, the cell membrane is relaxed. As the cells expand and relax, the cell membrane becomes more permeable, and are better able to release waste, toxins and inflammation and receive oxygen and nutrients. This receiving of oxygen and releasing of waste is what increases the natural charge of the cell. As the cell reaches it's natural charge, cells return to optimal health."
This short clip shows the most "dramatic" settings of the loops. Siljar had a strong reaction in his legs and joints and has even stretched his hind legs all the way back when they were treated. We saw him licking and being very relaxed! It is like a massage from the inside and feels really good!

The Daylight saving time change allows me to ride outside after work now. Today, I took Siljar out to play a little bit and cantered him for the first time. I love how uphill and balanced it is!
