OTQH “Runs Like Jagger”

Jags is a 7 year old gelding that stands a touch over 17 hands. He has been started on barrels but has also dabbled in dressage and has lovely gaits to pursue that career. Jags is soft in the bridle and an uncomplicated ride. Very safe and sane.
Sound with no injuries or vices.

How as a horse community can we get back to being more realistic in vettings? School master types are going to require maintenance. Sport Horses gain miles with wear and tear. Flexions at a 1 or a 2 are usually VERY manageable with a bit of help. You do an oil change every 3000 miles on your car. We change the brakes when they wear diwn, we don't throw out the whole car. I can't promise safe and reliable horses that have only been kept in a glass box. I understand when there are GLARING issues, but generally the seller realizes that too and the price reflects the gamble.

RRP Trainers … I have this really nice 3 year old gelding who is eligible for the 2025 TB Makeover. Really nice mover with excellent pedigree. 17 hands and sweet personality.
Has had a post track ride and will be officially restarted soon now that we are home from Kentucky with more time to put into him. Does have some track jewelry but is 100% sound and cleared for a dressage or lower level jumping career. Videos will come soon. Another Thoroughbred Makeover is in the books! We are headed home after a crazy week of showing. Couldn’t be more proud of “Tail of Samson” aka Tom and my team mate Eysley for the rides they had this past week.
It was a year in the making and so grateful to have a TB Makover graduate after it was all said and done.
Tom was all class this week with clear jumping rounds and very respectable dressage tests. He gave it his all, finishing 2nd in Team Dressage and 4th in Team Eventing.
Huge thank you to everyone that helped along the way, making sure Tom was in top shape!

Applications are now open for the 2024 T.I.P. Young Rider of the Year Award. This Award recognizes young riders, 18 or under as of January 1, 2024, who own or lease a Thoroughbred for use in 4-H, Pony Club or other activities. The winner(s) will be determined through an essay contest with a total award of $5,000 that can be applied to the college of their choice or to their participation in an event that furthers their involvement with horses.
