Facebook Friends, Starting Sunday January 19, everything in the store is will be 75% off( excluding some of the fixtures and the Advantage Flea products. Flea products are still 50% off)The shelving units and pegs, ( excluding the black shelving which is already sold) is one lump sum of 500.00. Individual units may be purchased for 75.00. These units are versatile and could be used in garages, work shops barns etc. Even the red aquarium stand units must go. 2 have been sold. The puppy kennels must go as well. There are 2 left at 300.00. Used empty aquariums no hoods or lights etc) are 1.00 per gallon.

Please remember all sales are final and CASH only. No credit or debit cards.

STARTING JANUARY 2, 2025, ALL SALES ARE CASH ONLY( NO DEBIT CARDS OR CHECKS).ALL MERCHANDISE IS 50% OFF. FIXTURES AND ENCLOSURES HAVE NOT BEEN PRICED. LETS PLAY...LETS MAKE A DEAL!

The store use fish tanks that are empty will include filters, lights, heaters( were applicable) and gravel if it was used.

If the store use tanks have stands, the stands will be 50.00.

Everyday there will be "Store Use Items" for sale as the stock room is emptied. These items will be cheap and need a home.

Facebook Friends, The outpouring of love we have received the last few days takes our breath away. Many of you were children when I came to Sylvia's Pets aka Discount Pets Supply and now bring your own children to the store is the best compliment the store could recieve. The next few weeks will be hectic.
We are advising those with balances on frequent buyer accounts ie cricket and gift certificates to use your balances. We are going to start tripling our weekly order of feeder crickets to accommodate your needs. The last date the store will order crickets is January 21st. The last day to pickup crickets will be January 27th. This will be a first come, first serve basis. Keep checking here for updates on liquidation sales. My personal pets will come home with me along with computer equipment and items my father made.

Customers will be allowed to use their discounts ie...student, military and first responders with sale items.

Dear Friends, Family & Followers of Sylvia’s Pets,

We have been in business since 1987 where we have grown from a very small operation along E Market St where Joe Bowman Chevrolet is today, to a temporary space next to where Martin’s Grocery is today, and finally as of 1992, to where we reside today on University Blvd.

For 37 years we have been proud and honored to be your choice for pets and their related products and services. Our customers are and always have been our biggest asset.

With that said, as they say, all good things must come to and end - retirement is looming.

It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Sylvia’s Pets effective January 31, 2025.

Please follow along here on Facebook for sales of our merchandise and fixtures as they become available.

For those who may be interested in an investment - the property will soon be for sale and we are open to offers for the business as well as all of our employees would prefer to continue running it.

Facebook Friends, I am back on the hunt. There was so much to see and learn and sniff out that my nose went " nose blind" but I powered through it.

I remember rabbits....I dream of rabbits... I love rabbits.* BUTLER, focus. Tell them what you found.

I found loppy ear rabbits and rabbits wearing mascara. Then there was what looked like 3 animals in one. It had a mouse face, squirrel hands and tail aaannnnd a rabbit body and it barked at me. Mom helped me out and told me it was a Chinchilla. Next was a Guinea Pig having a bad hair day. The ones with the bad hair are known as Peruvian Guinea Pigs.

I liked all these new friends and think they would make for a nice cuddle.

Skylar caught up with me and said I needed to learn about reptiles and amphians. She showed me a bright green tree frog with a smile on his face. She called it a Whites Ttee frog. Not sure how the color white plays in there. Next was a brightly colored Pac Man frog. This guy could grow to 8 pounds and have teeth. When is a hog not a hog? Anwser...when it's a Hog Snake. It does have a little pug nose. I may pass on cuddling with Skylars friends.

My head is so full I need my nap. Woof Woof, more to come.....

Facebook Friends, I am Rhett Butler aka Butler. I am attempting to follow in Tater's paw prints with Facebook posts. Wish me luck!

Mom took me to the store today and told me to sniff out cool stuff. With Jeff and Skylars' help this is what I found.

The Pigeon Blood Discus caught me eagle eyes right off. Then I came upon these Spikey Nirite snails and these colorful Neocardina shrimp.

Skylar is trying to convince me that the Cobalt Blue Tarantula and the Blue Death Feigning Beetles are great pets. Not sure how you cuddle with them though.

I am worn out and need my nap time. We Dachshunds need to get in 20 hours of sleep in a 24 hour day. I will post more ( yawn) pictures and info tomorrow. Woof Woof

Linville-Edom Elementary school invited Tilly for a Tortoise and the Hare race. It was very exciting the Hare almost won but turned around at the last minute. Tilly ate his way to the finish line.

Facebook Friends, we are up and running. We have everything. Phone. Cc machine, computer.. Jeez this sounds like the little girl hacker on Jurassic Park. Keep fingers crossed. Shout to Daegan at the Verizon store on University. HE ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO! Why the tech support on the phone last night couldn't is anybody guess.
