Facebook Friends, I am back on the hunt. There was so much to see and learn and sniff out that my nose went " nose blind" but I powered through it.

I remember rabbits....I dream of rabbits... I love rabbits.* BUTLER, focus. Tell them what you found.

I found loppy ear rabbits and rabbits wearing mascara. Then there was what looked like 3 animals in one. It had a mouse face, squirrel hands and tail aaannnnd a rabbit body and it barked at me. Mom helped me out and told me it was a Chinchilla. Next was a Guinea Pig having a bad hair day. The ones with the bad hair are known as Peruvian Guinea Pigs.

I liked all these new friends and think they would make for a nice cuddle.

Skylar caught up with me and said I needed to learn about reptiles and amphians. She showed me a bright green tree frog with a smile on his face. She called it a Whites Ttee frog. Not sure how the color white plays in there. Next was a brightly colored Pac Man frog. This guy could grow to 8 pounds and have teeth. When is a hog not a hog? Anwser...when it's a Hog Snake. It does have a little pug nose. I may pass on cuddling with Skylars friends.

My head is so full I need my nap. Woof Woof, more to come.....

Mom took me to the store today and told me to sniff out cool stuff. With Jeff and Skylars' help this is what I found.

The Pigeon Blood Discus caught me eagle eyes right off. Then I came upon these Spikey Nirite snails and these colorful Neocardina shrimp.

Skylar is trying to convince me that the Cobalt Blue Tarantula and the Blue Death Feigning Beetles are great pets. Not sure how you cuddle with them though.

I am worn out and need my nap time. We Dachshunds need to get in 20 hours of sleep in a 24 hour day. I will post more ( yawn) pictures and info tomorrow. Woof Woof

Facebook Friends, we are up and running. We have everything. Phone. Cc machine, computer.. Jeez this sounds like the little girl hacker on Jurassic Park. Keep fingers crossed. Shout to Daegan at the Verizon store on University. HE ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO! Why the tech support on the phone last night couldn't is anybody guess.

Facebook Friends, Tater Tot, Tater, Tate, TaTa, TeeTee. TeeTot, Little Man and my alter ego on Facebook has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I want to thank all of you who came to see Tate on his 18th birthday on October 31st. Due to mobility issues he had not been able to come to the store regularly for sometime now. He was such an integral part of the store and its operations. All I had to say was " Tate it's time for work" and he would beat me to the car. But above all, he was part of my family and gave unconditional love to new additions to our home whether they be hooman, feline or canine. He was the head of the crew and all bowed to him. They say all dogs go to heaven. If am lucky, I will get to see him again.

I slept in but you all need to get up and get to the store and take advantage of the 18% off anything over 18.00 and make sure you enter drawing for gift certificates! WHOOPEE FOR ME. Facebook friends, I talked mom into doing a little something for my 18th birthday!. Here's the scoop. On the 31st she will give 18% off any purchase 18.00 and over. She WILL allow you to combine discounts. For example...if you are current or retired military you can use your 10% with the 18% for a total of 28% off. This also applies to college students, all first responders and seniors 62 and over. Everyone coming to the store from now through Oct. 31st. Can enter to win 18.00 gift certificates. ( there will be 3 given and no purchase nessary. The drawing will be November 1st. If you or your pet wear a costume on the 31st you will receive a 5.00 coupon. There will be cupcakes for you to enjoy. Mom said I could come in from 3:30 to 5:00. I would LOVE to see old friends and make new ones. See ya there!...p.s. if I have dozed off please wake me up! I only turn 18 once.

Facebook friends Ole Tater is still around but definitely feeling my age. Moms getting old too. Mom and I have a dear friend who needs to re-home 3 young female Siamese cats. ( 1 to 2 yrs)They are grey tabby lynx point. They have been raised indoors and were given the required vaccinations but not rabies because they are inside. If anyone is interested please PM the store's messenger site

Next month is my 18th birthday! Don't you think I should have a party? I mean I was born on October 31st. If you think I deserve a party, tell mom, tell Jeff, tell Skylar tell everybody to say yes! Cake and goodies and 18% off sales over 18.00. That would be a good start......

Facebook Friends, Jeff has been busy with the marine area of the store. Some of the prices may have been cut off in the picture but if you call him this weekend he will be happy to fill in the gaps! Although marine fish are very beautiful, I enjoy the corals and anemones along with the variety of shrimp, starfish and crabs. All serve a variety of purposes in their eco system.

Facebook Friends, my Mom made a big mistake but Katonna can count and Mom can't. I, Tater, am 17 years and 1 month old! (Mom asked the vet today just to make sure,) While I enjoy proving Mom wrong, I am not crazy about really being a year older.

Facebook Friends!!!!!!! Guess what? You won't believe it! You just won't! Mom doesn't have pictures and Mom said, " Tate don't you dare tell because we need pictures", but I couldn't keep this news to myself. Ready? Sylvia's has ENGLISH BULLDOG PUPPIES! We have a boy and a girl. They they are Brindle with white faces and lots of wrinkles . Soft, smoochie, squishy, face wrinkles. Hmmm, you know I hope they find their forever homes soon because I am feeling odd. Mom said I am jealous . What is "jealous" anyway?

Facebook Friends, it's been awhile. I have been out of the loop. Mom thought about retirement then thought....NO. ..so that means I , Tater, must work as well. It's all good. Keeps me young and I get to tell you about current sales and HOLIDAY HOURS. Beginning Black Friday through Christmas, sales are as follows ( while supplies last)...FREE Parakeet or Finch with purchase of a starter home. Larger birds will be 20% off with purchase of appropriate home. Hamsters will also be FREE with a starter home. Chinchillas, rabbits and Guinea will be 20% off with appropriate home. Reptiles will be 20% with 50.00 reptile supply purchase. All fish will be 10% off. And lastly pups and kittens will be 20% off. Black Friday hours are 9 to 7 and beginning December 4, through December 18. Sylvia's will be OPEN on SUNDAYS, 12 to 5. Keep checking the store page for new sales. Now MOM wants to say something..... Dear Patrons, please do not buy pets as a gift without the recipient being aware. Also pets bought as presents may be pushed aside when the excitement is over. Any pet is a long term commitment. With that said I want to thank all old and new patrons who have supported Sylvia's Pets for the last 36 years! Let's see what year 37 brings.

I think this is an appropriate photo for this post. The 4th of July is around the corner and while we as citizens may not always agree, we still live in the best place in the world. A place where a woman can start a job, work hard, buy the business and now celebrate 30years at the same job TODAY! Happy Birthday America, Happy Anniversary to me and Thank you Sylvia, my mentor, my friend and the woman who made all this possible.
