SAD UPDATE:

Roo has taken a turn for the worse and at 10:20 this morning crossed the rainbow bridge.

the second photo is such a glimpse into Roo. as I was laying next to her and petting her she became aware I was there, smiled and leaned her head into me and fell asleep again.

I'm short on words and will most likely follow up with more at a later date when I've had more time to process things.

It's been a while since my last post, and that's because my girl Roo hasn't been doing well. At 13.8 years old, she’s aging rapidly, and her health has been up and down. I’ve been focusing all my energy on her needs and comfort, knowing our time together is limited. Honestly, at this point, I’m not sure she’ll make it to Christmas or even the end of this week. Anyways, I just wanted to share this update before I take another break to be with her.

Jasper rocked his session today! we saw a bunch of things from skateboards and bikes to loud kids bouncing around and he handled it all like a pro. proud of this boy!

I got to teach the kids at Week 2 of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe Edventure Camp. We talked about dog training and understanding body language. We were able to bring in some of the shelter dogs and talk about what they were "saying".
Then Bagheera came in and did some tricks and scent work. The kids got to meet and pet her and she was loving it! She even did a little "selfie" with the campers!

this morning I had the great privilege of working with the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe and teaching the week 1 Edventure Camp kids about dog training and dog body language. we got to interact with some of the shelter dogs (pictured here is adoptable dog Darla) and learn about what they are "saying". I was also able to bring my dog Bagheera in and do some tricks and some scent/nose work with her.
Fun time all around!

I got to take Nova out on a field trip this morning. She's one of the adoptable dogs from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. She did really well with all the craziness that we saw. She was interested in it all but was able to keep cool and take it all in stride. Stop by the shelter and check her out!

great session working with Jasper downtown!
he was around a lot of craziness and was still able to maintain his conversation with me. at the end of the session we wound down by hanging out in the back of my car.

got to work with Jasper today.
he's a pup who sometimes has a lot of big (and loud) feelings about things around him. we worked in downtown Truckee and focused on him being calm around new and distracting things. I gotta say he absolutely rocked it! there were a couple of times he started to respond to things but he was able to quickly calm down and talk to me about it. so great to see!

Just chilling with Bagheera and taking in the world around us. I do believe Winnie the Pooh was right when he said "doing nothing often leads to the very best of something". Don't overlook the power of slowing down.

Bentley is such a fun dog to hang out with. She and Bagheera had a blast playing in the water and chasing each other on their latest walk.
