Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse & Cat Sanctuary is a 501c3 non profit organization that provides permanent care for special needs senior horses & senior cats.

We are located in Middle TN. Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary provides permanent retirement care to special needs senior horses, primarily of the draft breed as well as senior cats. NEW for 2017-we have created a Senior Cat Sanctuary on the farm as well for cats aged 15 and over. We currently care for 10 horses and 20 cats!

Sweet Minnow had to see the vet this week. She developed nasal congestion, eye discharge and fluid in her right ear. Her renal disease is holding steady, but she has lost weight as she is eating less. She is now on a variety of medications for her infection and hoping she will feel better very soon! 🥰

Yesterday morning, the snow was coming down and the winds were gusting. Mac needed to be cleaned and dried off for a turnout sheet, and Johnny needed to help! Handsome boys 💕

Draft horses are big and heavy to work on. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful trimmer who is willing to work on our big boys feet. Various joint issues create challenges when asking them to keep 1 hoof up and balance on the other 3.
Isaac adds another level of challenge with being blind and reactive, but we continue to find ways to keep everyone safe and healthy.

(We are using a non molasses micro senior pellet feed in these, programmed to when Momma thinks he needs an extra snack❤️)
