🌟 Tomorrow (12/24) Henniker vet will be closing at 12pm! Please make sure any meds or prescription food is picked up BEFORE noon tomorrow!
🌟 We will be CLOSED Wednesday (12/25) so our staff can enjoy the holiday with their loved ones 🥰
🌟 On Thursday (12/26) We will be open normal hours.
As always there will be a doctor on call for established clients

🎄We want to inform our clients that will be open for gift card purchases ONLY. We are CLOSED for appointments due to a hospital-wide inventory. A doctor will be available for EMERGENCIES for established clients.
🎄 We will be offering the same special as before, 25% off gift cards! No limit!
🎄 This special is ONLY offered during our open hours 8am-12pm.
🎄 If you plan on purchasing a gift card via telephone, we kindly ask for your patience since our phone lines will be caught up with MANY phone calls.
🎄 To avoid any confusion, when purchasing a gift card, please be sure to clarify how much you want to spend vs how much you want the value of the gift card to be.

Happy Friday!
We hope you all had a fun and safe thanksgiving yesterday. This past week the hospital partnered with New England College dining hall and NEC students. They made some tasty homemade treats to give away for our k9 patients! Huge thank you to necfoodie for thinking of us during this time of giving!
On Monday, our staff had their traditional Thanksgiving lunch with a big turkey cooked by Dr. Jones, all homemade sides, desserts, snacks and drinks brought in by staff😋.
It’s not too often our hardworking staff get to sit down, relax and enjoy a meal together, so we value this time when it comes around 😊

🦃 We are OPEN normal hours today (11/26) and tomorrow (11/27).
🦃 We will be CLOSED 11/28 so our hardworking staff can celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. There will be a doctor on call for established clients.

With all the holiday hustle and bustle we want to make sure our pets are kept safe, attached is a reminder from the ASPCA on foods to keep away from your pets!

🧡Día de los Muertos🧡
(Day of the Dead)
This Mexican 🇲🇽 holiday is traditionally celebrated on November 1st to the 2nd. The holiday involves family and friends gather to pay their respects and remember loved ones who have passed on. Some commemorate their deceased pets before November 1st. This celebration takes place the night of October 27th, when it is believed the souls of pets visit their home during the early hours of October 28th.

The alter (ofrenda) may contain favorite foods, along with photos and memorabilia of the departed. This is usually left out in the homes as a welcoming gesture for the deceased.
Mexican cemapasúchil (marigolds) 🌼 is the traditional flower used to honor the dead. It is believed that the bright petals can guide the souls from the cemeteries to their home 🧡
Here at Henniker vet we wanted to create an ofrenda with pets that passed in hopes that they visit us during this holiday.

Some of the staff have started contributing photos of their own pets who have passed. Clients are welcome to bring in a small photo or memorabilia to add to our ofrenda so we can remember your beloved pets. We hope this brings you joy in remembering the life you shared with your pet 🧡

Happy Vet Tech Appreciation week! 🎉
Every third week in October is dedicated to appreciate the dedicated staff who keep our hospital running. These ladies do not get enough credit for the behind the scenes work they do! From cleaning messes 💩 to taking x-rays 🩻, drawing blood 🩸, placing catheters, post op cuddles 🥰, and SO much more. They are your pets advocate and we cant thank them enough!

During this week, we honor their commitment to compassionate veterinary care for all animals. Please join us in celebrating these important team members!

Our friend H***h may have been a little too curious of a new pasture friend last week 🥸 😅 Luckily his owners acted quick, we were able to add him to morning roadcalls and provide some relief 👍🏼

Cheers to new beginnings! 🎉🎊
Many of you know and love Dr. Amy Jones (we sure do 😊). We are thrilled to announce that she has accepted the role of Managing DVM for Henniker Vet and will be leading our hospital!
Dr. Jones grew up in our very own Concord NH, and attended Concord high school where she met her husband, Erik. Amy attended Dartmouth college for undergrad (class of ‘96). After graduating, Amy spent two years in Colorado working as a vet tech before attending Tufts vet school (‘02). She spent 4 years in a small animal practice in Keene and in 2006, she joined Bob and Alyssa as an associate vet here at Henniker vet!
Amy and Erik have two sons, Owen (20) and Brody (18). Owen currently attends university of Colorado Boulder and Brody is starting freshman year at University of Vermont this fall.
Amy has been with HVH for 18 years and has definitely become a household name in this area. Congratulations Amy on your new role, leading our team. We can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🥰

This past Sunday we celebrated Dr. Bob Brust and Dr. Alyssa Brust and their retirement after 30+ years! 🥳🎉

These two met each other in undergrad at Michigan State University (Go Spartans!💚), both attended MSU Vet school and married shortly after graduating.

A few years later, they made their way up to Weare, New Hampshire! In February 1998, Alyssa started her mobile practice she ran out of their home while Bob worked in Salem, NH. On June 1st, 1999, the Brust’s purchased Henniker Veterinary hospital from Dr. Leo Dube who started the practice in the 70’s! 😮

25 years of so many great memories in this community! In September 2002, Bob and Alyssa welcomed their son, Patrick, and in March of 2004 they welcomed their daughter Ashley. These two have grown with this hospital and it’s been great having them work with us over the years. Patrick is a recent graduate of MSU and Ashley will be entering her junior year also at MSU.
Through the years, this hospital has been through 4 renovations, welcomed hundreds of new clients and patients, said farewell to others, entered in every Henniker bed race, chili fest and volunteered at the rabies clinic. The community that is built around this hospital is unlike any other and it’s all thanks to Bob and Alyssa and the work they put in over the past 25 years!
Enjoy all the pictures posted! We were able to dig up some great throwbacks (thank you Ashley 😜). The last few photos are of the retirement party hosted at Henniker’s own Colby Hill Inn! 😊

Good evening 🌇
Tomorrow (Sunday July 28th) from 12pm-8pm, all large animal emergencies will be referred to Pembroke Animal Hospital. We will NOT be available for small animal emergencies from 12pm to 7am the following morning (7/29). All small animal emergencies will be referred to CAVES or VECM

We have some exciting news to share! 🥰
Last week our wonderful CSR, Maddie, welcomed baby Theo 💙 This beautiful boy joined us on July 14th weighing in 9lb 6oz 😍 Mama and baby are home and doing well soaking up all those newborn snuggles💙! Please join us in congratulating this new family 🥰

Good morning!
We have new lawn ornaments and some clients have asked about why they are there:

🚒 Safety! This is a fire lane and we need to keep this aisle clear in case of an emergency so our first responders have the access they need.

💧 Water irrigation system. We have sprinklers on the edge of the lawn, and yearly we are finding ourselves replacing sprinklers that have been run over by cars.

🏢 We share this parking lot with other businesses. Edmunds is right next door that has deliveries coming weekly. When the semis are delivering supplies and clients are parked along the lawn, our mobile vehicles are unable to leave our driveway and that in turn puts a delay on us servicing our patients on both routine but also EMERGENCY house calls.

We kindly ask our clients and visitors to use the parking spaces provided in the lot 😊
