Therapy Dogs: Southeastern Therapy Animal Resources-STAR STAR is a non-profit 501(c) charity established to promote the use of suitably trained animals.

STAR is a 501c3 nonprofit organization consisting entirely of volunteers. Most of us are therapy dog handlers in the Charleston, South Carolina area. In addition to visiting facilities with registered therapy dogs, we educate the public about therapy dog work.

We are so proud of these STAR teams who got the call on a Sunday evening hoping for a therapy dog visit, on Monday morning they were there. The crisis team knew the children would find comfort in dealing with their loss of a classmate.

Thank you to all the teams that volunteer their time and talented dogs to bring joy and comfort all over the Lowcountry. A special thanks to Amber Hills and Rhonda Reames Hills for all your work to make the party a success. You are appreciated 🐾

Thank you Rhonda for organizing “Bark in the Park”. It’s great to see members and get to hang out and give the dogs a fun day off. They did sneak in a little therapy work because everyone wants to pet therapy dogs!

Today was our annual visit to Westminster Presbyterian Preschool in Charleston, SC.
We look forward to this visit every year. The kids spend the week learning about pets and how to be good pet owners then on Friday the therapy dogs visit.
The sweetest children you could ever meet, amazing staff and our dogs loved every minute.
