And this is why Meno doesn’t get a soft comfy bed! It has been cold the last couple of nights and even though he’s husky Malamute mix now I put him in the kennel that gives him indoor sleeping if he wants it. And I forgot to pick up Blossom‘s bed. Oops. In his defense blossom ate a marrow bone in that bed and made an absolute mess so the bed smell like meat lol

This absolutely gorgeous Cat was adopted to an older member of the community as a companion. She is an older cat, about nine years old, circumstances have changed and the cat needs to be rehomed. She came from the shelter, but they may or may not take her back. They are on overload. DAPS has actually been asked not to bring in anymore animals so they are very happy that we adopted out Ghost today but, I digress. Josie, a permanent foster with DAPS and new temporary foster ghost out on a walk together.. I’ve never seen Josie take to a dog like she did ghost they are instant best buds and so much so she made a hole in the fence so that they could hang out together. But ghost will go to his forever home tomorrow. No owner has come forward. I have scoured all of the lost dog pages in Northern New Mexico so as of tomorrow, he is free to be rehomed. He will go to a house with another husky and live a fabulous life.

A very belated shout out to Chris Beres of Humble body products of Taos. Clean natural deodorant, soap, lip balm, might be the best lip balm I’ve ever used. Chris called with a couple of kittens that had just shown up at the warehouse. They were a brother and sister and very sweet. I gave them their first shots and sent them off to Petsense. They were adopted by the end of the day. When I returned the carriers that the kittens arrived in, I was gifted a handful of products. Just a simple, kind gesture, and it made my day!  if you haven’t tried humble products yet you should. They’re clean. The fragrances are wonderful. They are local and we don’t get paid for these recommendations. We are all just working together to make it through!

This absolutely darling nine month old husky may have been dumped in Dixon. It could’ve jumped out of a truck, could’ve gone for a run. We don’t know. But this is one gorgeous sweet puppy. We’ve had a couple of leads so far nothing has panned out. County ordinate dictates that it has to stay for a couple of days and then is free to be adopted. Not micro chipped. Alexis and David arrived this morning from Taos. They showed up at the warehouse of the Humble body products company. If you haven’t checked out their products, you showed their clean and healthy and smell wonderful! These two were part of a litter dumped a couple of weeks ago. They are sweet and social. They have had a worming and first shots and will be available at Petsense in Espanola tomorrow morning. They are bonded so we would like to keep them together. My guess is they’re about 12 weeks old. They will need a spay and neuter within the next few weeks, but those are free at the Espanola Shelter along with shots. They will need a few more boosters to be fully vaccinated, and micro chipping, no cost to Rio Arriba county residents.

It is Roady’s big day!! Today we are convening at the Shelter first to have his follow up the evaluation and his sutures removed. Then, he gets to go home with his new mom. When I first picked him up and posted him to see if he had an owner, Jean immediately sent me a text asking if he was going to be available for adoption. I told her I had to know he was going to survive and, what the extent of his injuries were . I asked why she was interested. Her response was that Roady looked just like her dog who had passed away a couple of years ago on the operating table after being hit by a car. I still get goosebumps the story. I told her that he’s her dog . We have been in contact throughout his surgery and recovery. I have offered to meet for her to meet him. She said she didn’t need to in the photos. You can see this guy and I don’t mean his physical body, but you can see his spirit which is soft and gentle . He is an absolutely darling dog. Still a puppy and he still has a way to go, but here’s a video of our first two weeks post surgery. Go Roady!

Bones-I hope you can hear the purr it’s nonstop. I’m not sure how much longer this little guy would’ve survived on his own not much! Glad to have him safe in foster care. Just a darling little guy.

If anyone would like to donate for Myst, Dewdrop and Thundercloud some fancy feast or Purina canned kitten food would be great. Myst came in absolutely emaciated and pregnant. So everything she could give she gave to her developing puppies. She has a voracious appetite and still needs the extra nutrition to produce milk for the babies. She’s doing great! The kittens have gained another 10th of an ounce today and should gain even more overnight. We’re just going through kitten food like there’s no tomorrow. You can get it at Petsense, walmart,tractorsupply, chewy.com and of course Amazon.
