NO FLYBALL TOMORROW OCT 4th.

Hi all, it's getting on into late Sunday afternoon and only one person expressed any interest in playing tomorrow. Therefore, we will NOT be having a group flyball practice tomorrow afternoon.

FLYBALL PRACTICE THIS SUNDAY.

How about flyball on Sunday Oct 4 at 2 pm? No Seahawks game, great weather.

Please respond if you plan to come so I am certain to be here and set up.

Don't forget this weekend there is a dock diving seminar up in Chilliwack. Scroll down the BARK page for the link, which I posted 3 - 4 weeks ago. If you can't find it and need it, just contact me.

Next weekend is a dock diving competition in Chilliwack at the same place.

Remember to let me know if you are coming to flyball. Thanks, Sharon

YES -- flyball Sunday morning, September 27. I've had some folks say that 9:15 was too early, so let's do 10:00 am tomorrow. Beginning next week, we shift to afternoon. If you plan to attend, please let me know by posting here or via email. Based on recent sporadic attendance, I will not show up unless someone informs me that they are attending :). If you want to come, by all means -- come! Just be sure I know to expect you - thanks!

FLYBALL TOMORROW, SUNDAY SEP 13: Still on for 9:15 am, but an idea for going to the afternoon is being discussed via email list. If you have not checked the email or weighed in on the time change idea, please do so. Meantime, unless word comes out differently, we are still on for 9:15. Plan for your feet, and your dog's feet, to get soaking wet with dew, and to get covered in mown lawn clippings (sorry). s

Ok, Dog Peeps ........... Here is some dock diving training, and dock diving competition, VERY close to us here in Whatcom County.

We might want to take a look at our flyball training times as this stuff pops up. Let's handle that on the email list, though; until further notice, we are still doing FREE flyball training Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. But do watch this page, and the emails, in case a big event causes us to cancel a practice.

WEST COAST PEEPS!!

I am happy to say that we will be returning to Chilliwack BC at Starlight K9 Care and Aquatics Center to do a full Dock Diving Seminar October 3-4, 2015.

This is a great opportunity to either freshen up your skills before the big year end events or for others to get started in the sport!

Wanting to compete? Get your dogs feet wet in the seminar and compete the following weekend at Starlight K9 Care and Aquatics Center's second North America Diving Dogs - NADD event October 10-11, 2015.

For folks interested in flyball, learning and/or watching, here is a list of some upcoming tournaments. Note that other tournies will be added in; usually there is a drive-able tournament every month except for December.

Also: note that Summie and I race with Dogwood and will therefore be participating in running the November tournament. We are gearing up for that now, so anyone interested in getting involved and helping in any way is MORE than welcome. We always need bodies at tournaments, and you will learn a lot about the game and the sport, too. And Dogwood people are pretty neat folks and fun to be around.

August 30, 2015 PSDD Practice

For folks interested in Dock Diving, the experts at Brown Dog University down in Gig Harbor are hard to beat for teaching the game. They are having a special practice this weekend, and are a great connection for you to make going forward in this game. Unfortunately, as you know, BARK does not have a proper dock for dock diving. Though such a dock is on the wish list!

Our next practice will be August 30, 2015, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Our practice facility is @ Brown Dog University- 11501 142nd Ave Ct KPN, Gig Harbor, WA 98329. This is in a residential area, parking is only available on the left side of street. Please do NOT park on the right side as it will block…

For those of you playing the home game, Summie's best jump of the week in Dock Diving came yesterday, Friday, in the 11 am wave: 20'7" Woo Hoo!

There are some upcoming (VERY soon) opportunities to learn and/or play this sport, so if you are interested in Dock Diving contact me right away and I'll direct you to the sources of the upcoming training and competitions. 966-3800. Sharon

Nice article about my dog from his Dock Diving at the fair today.

Happy Spring, Everyone! I wanted to let everyone know that the website is temporarily down; I'm switching over to a different host and will get it back up asap. Other news is that I do expect and intend to get some things going here at BARK this year, beginning in May. Free flyball classes will be one of the certain events, as well as agility class (not free). Stay tuned - don't lose the faith - and we will be up and at'em in no time. Thanks!

Even though it's well below freezing today, spring is not that far off. Time to start thinking about flyball and agility!! BARK will be starting FREE flyball lessons, and reasonably priced agility classes, in March. Dates and times to be determined... but this is a great time to chime in with date and time suggestions.

02/05/2013

Intermediate, or "Ongoing," Agility Class begins Saturday June 1 at 1:30 pm. This is a great class if you have finished a beginner class, or have taught your dog to perform jumps and tunnels yourself, and are ready to begin earnestly working on handling and sequencing. You do need to be solid on jumps and tunnels to enter this class. As part of this class, we will continue to add obstacles to your repertoire and to perfect your performance on all the obstacles you might encounter.

If you are more advanced than the above paragraph describes, you will still benefit from this class. I try to create sequences and courses that include all sorts of challenges and difficulties, so that teams of every level will find something in the sequence that they can learn and build on. As in agility trials, most sequences (especially initially) will be comprised of mainly jumps and tunnels, but the other obstacles will be part of our courses as well. I will teach you multiple handling techniques and help you learn which method works best with your dog given a certain look on the course. Practice makes perfect, you know!

This will be a particularly fun class. Cost is $90 for the 8 weeks.
