Just to show that I do still play with and love Dakota too. He still loves to get out there and work!

Dakota Tunnelers 2 Q score
Our fastest and cleanest run from the weekend's trial. Dakota loves this game so much and just keeps getting faster every time we go! He's such a fun and fast dog, not too bad for 11 years old.
Dakota Novice Jumpers 7/28/18
A pretty little jumpers run. This is becoming one of Dakota's favorite games in agility and he is consistently doing well in jumpers. I have the best partner!
Thanks Three Pines Productions, LLC for the video!
Dakota Novice Regular Agility 2/27/18
Agility dog in the making! He will work for food, but last night, we were working for toys instead and the enthusiasm was so much higher! Recallers Promotion
With this nice weather we have been having lately, wouldn't it be nice to have a dog who was reliable off leash? I have the answer for you! In Recallers, we focus on getting a reliable recall around distractions, impulse control and teaching our dogs to make good choices. By the end of the class, your dog will be well on their way to coming when called and finding you, their human, more interesting than squirrels. Message me to sign up!
He is so majestic when he rolls over 😂😂😂
“Dakota, do you want to go to agility?” As long as he still reacts like this, I know he still loves the game!
Dakota loves food. For him to recall past 4 plates of food, plus agility equipment is huge! This is impulse control in a huge way. This has also taken us a few tries to get it this well. This is all trained by rewarding good choices and setting him up so poor choices are minimal. If you are interested in recallers class, let me know.
While this is not my prettiest run ever, there are some moments of brilliance from Dakota. He had a lot of speed, his contacts looked great (when he actually did them on course) and he did the weaves! Plus, he was having a lot of fun. The mistakes he made were probably (96% chance) my fault. He is such a sweet and fun boy, and I am always lucky to get to run with him.
I may have been joking about the bowling league, but look at this dog! This was all trained through free shaping, then I added a cue after he offered this behavior several times. Adding the ball to the equation took two training sessions. This right here maybe shows that I have too much time on my hands, but mostly what a powerful tool the clicker is. Seriously, let’s start a dog’s bowling league!
Cueing Synchronized downs. Such good dogs for working close to each other and listening well together!
Dakota's first barnhunt practice with two rats hidden. This is our newest sport and the one I am most surprised that he loves. It forces him to take the lead, rather than me. I love games that let him think for himself sometimes, because it builds confidence and the ability to problem solve. Pretty much, if my dog enjoys a sport, chances are, I do too!
Even as a trainer, I continually have to work on behaviors and cues. Shocker, I know. My opinion, there is no such thing as a dog who is fully trained. It is an ongoing process. And my dog also has been known not to do what I ask when I ask for it. Weave poles are one of those. He weaves well at home but not so much at trials. To counter this, we've been taking our weaves out to parks and working them in all sorts of places. Here's a video of our practice!
