Moose has almost completed his training package, but his parents needed to go out of town. They didn’t have to worry, because Moose came to hang with us. He got to practice his skills in a home with kids and other dogs. He did great!

Sammy got a ride to board and train and wanted to make sure his friend got unbuckled too. He’s getting prepared for a new home so we’ll be working on leash walking and some basic cues so his new family can start with success.

Moose had his first session today and worked on down, leash walking and leave it. His parents also learned some tips on how to manage unwanted behavior as well as how to work smarter not harder.

How it started vs how it’s going. RocketMan is going to be a lion for Halloween this year. We’re just slowly introducing him to his costume so he can be comfortable. If he decides he doesn’t want to wear it, that’s ok too.

Board and train is family affair. We are super thankful for the cooler weather. River is learning how to properly greet visitors, so there’s lots of opening and closing the door to practice. He’s also learning what he can do to connect with his people instead of jumping on them.

It’s perfectly normal in my world to go meet someone in a parking lot that you’ve never met but somebody vouched for both of y’all, pick up a dog, take him home and let him on the couch after a dip in the pool. Now you’ve got a job to do and some new friends.

Henri is perfecting his manners during a board and train stay. He’s hard at work here learning he can calmly hang out while I move around folding and hanging clothes. All board and train dogs stay inside our home with our family so they can learn practical skills and I can give you practical solutions.

When you get picked up for board and train and you know your trainer is nice, patient and has good snacks, you feel great. But, you quickly discover she didn’t mention anything about a free car concert, and she should probably not give up her day job to become a singer.

Mildred wants to remind everybody in SWLA of the obvious, it’s HOT 🔥. Brachiocephalic breeds can get heatstroke quickly and time outside in heat like this should be limited.

Some more 🔥 tips:
Avoid hot pavement that can burn paws
NEVER leave a dog in a hot vehicle, even for a few minutes.
Make sure there is water and shade access for outside time as well as plenty of water inside.
