What a handsome gentleman! Meet Fisher. He's a 7 year old terrier mix with one of the sweetest faces we've ever seen. (And we've seen a lot of faces!) Fisher's adoption fee is $0. That's right - no need to wipe your eyes or do a double take! The adoption fees for dogs and cats over 7 years old are being covered thanks to a wonderful, compassionate donor!

Adventure, fresh air, and sunshine! We love to get out and see what we can find! First, let's start by introducing the star of the show, Rocky! He is an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier mix. Greeting the world with love and licks, he wants to share his adventures with you! Let's call it... A date with my dog!
We live in Monterey, California and have great opportunities to get out and enjoy ourselves! Do you know about all the neat spots across the coast that will accommodate to you and you pet? In this blog, we'll cover 3 places that we can eat, shop, and beach it up in one area!
Carmel has a large dog community, and we've made a few friends! With that in mind, we chose Carmel for our doggy date.
We started with a little shopping; it's definitely a luxury we love doing. As we were picking out an outfit for our "Annual Spring Mixer", Rocky decided he needed a new chew toy. The Barnyard Shopping Center is a perfect place to shop your heart out. Rocky is greeted by numerous employees as we go through the center. Some shops have treats for him, some shops have water bowls out. The welcoming feel is open and ready for your arrival!
After shopping, we worked up an appetite for some good grub. Allegros in The Barnyard Shopping Center has outdoor and indoor seating and are super accommodating for you and your pet. One great benefit for myself is that they have a dedicated space in their kitchen for gluten free (I have celiac disease and have to avoid gluten). Carmel by the Sea provides a few other dog friendly restaurants as well, such as Flahertys Seafood Bar and Grill, Forge in the Forest, Carmel Belle, and more!
Now, where to get out all that energy that we built back up? Carmel by the Sea's beach has a long stretch of sand that meets the ocean and is calling for all dogs, big and small! Off leash is acceptable, as well as a few spots to collect complimentary waste bags on your way down to the ocean. Rocky has met many friends hanging out at this beach! Sometimes the water is a little cold, but dogs don't mind. We took some video to show the love that's on the shoreline.

What's your favorite place to walk on a wet day? Marty's is 'The Road to Nowhere' which starts by the white barricades on General Jim Moore & Eucalyptus rd in Seaside. With breathtaking ocean views and a nice road to walk on, you're guaranteed to have a less mud to wash off your fur baby!
