A Legacy Of Community Support
OC Animal Allies began in 1984 as a small group of dedicated animal lovers in Orange County coming together to form an organization dedicated to helping Orange County residents and animals. In 1987, we were granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) was born. In 2019, the organization changed its

name to OC Animal Allies to reflect its unique position in the animal welfare space and to more accurately convey its mission and vision. With a continued focus on how best to serve the residents and animals in Orange County, our organization has developed innovative programs that focus on keeping animals out of shelters, and potentially euthanasia. Today, OC Animal Allies provides solutions for spay and neuter, emergency financial support, education and other resources. Our programs bring hope to Orange County pet owners who often have nowhere else to turn for help. OC Animal Allies is an independent, volunteer-driven, non-profit and is not affiliated with any other SPCA, including the ASPCA. We do not receive any funding from government or other agency and our operations are entirely funded by the generosity of our individual and corporate donors.

It is with great sadness that OC Animal Allies announces the loss of our beloved mascot, Patriot. Having been severely abused at 3 months of age, Patriot overcame his abuse to serve the community for more than 11 years.. Serving as an ambassador and therapy dog, his unforgettable face and deep blue eyes brought emotional and spiritual healing to all he met- often without a spoken word. Patriot proudly represented us as a beacon of resilience, survival and hope.

Inspiring programs for victim support and humane education, he helped lead our community service programs and pet therapy teams who bring smiles, peace and healing to the community every day. While abuse often leaves invisible scars, Patriot wore the memory of his abuse in the form of the signature circles on his muzzle. His smiling face will forever serve as a reminder of the hope and good that can rise up with the proper love, care and respect that all living creatures deserve.

Meet Thom and Geri- Through no fault of their own these senior siblings are now seeking a place to live out their "Golden Years". Their owner entered hospice, and family simply wanted to dump them at the shelter. These two appear to be siblings from their veterinary and adoption records, and are terrier mixes approximately 30 lbs., and 13 years old.. Both have received very good care since being adopted as puppies from the shelter many years ago. They are both altered, current on all vaccinations and received recent checkups and bloodwork that came back great. They both could use some dental work, however OC Animal Allies can assist with this before going to their new home. They are sweet and have a great loving temperament that we know those seniors can bring!

While they are not currently in danger, we are assisting to locate a permanent or foster home for them quickly. Please contact OC Animal Allies at [email protected] for more information or to arrange for a meet and greet!

From Kourtnei..."OC Animal Allies saved my dogs life. Without that donation I would’ve had to euthanize and lose my best friend. So truly from the bottom of my heart thank you for saving my boy!!! "

Special thank you to Affordable Animal Hospital Orange for their help in saving Anubis!

Working full time to care for her elderly mother and her beloved pets, Kourtnei reached out to us desperate for help.

Her Husky "Anubis" was not doing well, and needed immediate exploratory abdominal surgery to save his life. Having rescued him from the shelter in 2015, she did not want to lose him now - and neither did we!

OC Animal Allies has already pledged a large deposit to get surgery started this afternoon. Can you help us continue his care?

Meet Astarte- just one of the amazing (and cute) pups that we were able to assist with your donations. After exhausting all of resources and her credit card, Astarte's owner desperately called out to us for help to remove a painful tumor in her eyelid. With your help and without hesitation, we jumped in to help relieve this sweet girl's pain and keep her in her loving home. The calls for help never stop coming - Will you help us by donating to help next week's pets in need?

Supporting Animals, Serving the Community.

Our History In 1984 a small group of dedicated animal lovers in Orange County, California got together with the purpose of forming an organization dedicated to helping animals and preventing animal cruelty. In 1987 they officially received their 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) was born. Over the years our organization has grown and evolved, always focusing on how we could help the most number of animals possible. While some groups run shelters we decided to form a program based organization whose primary focus is to help reduce the number of animals killed in our shelters every year through spaying and neutering and through keeping the pets in their homes.

In 2020, the OCSPCA became the Orange County Animal Allies in order to better reflect with the evolution and progress that has taken place as a result of more than three decades of dedicated service to animals and residents of Orange County. What started with a group of committed animal lovers has grown into one of the county’s premier non-profit organizations, with innovative programs that assist those in our community who are most in need. This positive change reflects our continued expansion, which would not have been possible without the backing and support of our devoted animal lovers like you.

We invite you to visit our updated website, www.OCAnimalAllies.org. We are very proud of our heritage and legacy and we recognize that the name Orange County SPCA holds historical value and resonance. We will retain the OCSPCA.com website and automatically redirect visitors and emails. Our new website has a refreshing and clean new look, aimed at streamlining ways for Orange County residents to get help and to support those in need. Our office phone numbers will not change and mailing address will remain the same. Our Tax ID and non-profit status has not changed. We receive no government funding or contract. All our good work is dependent solely on financial support from our community of donors.
