It's the final highlight of our 2024 Reno champions... The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle! PRF Peptos Smart Cat and Jared Jones made a clean sweep for the coveted championship title of the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle, adding $6,302 to their lifetime earnings and taking home the treasured "Boots" traveling trophy, a bronze cast of Sherri's boots and spurs! The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Foundation also presented the champions with a gold and silver headstall sponsored by Jack Hammond and Family (Sherri's family), and a trophy buckle sponsored by Mike Gilkerson. PRF Peptos Smart Cat (2016 stallion, WR This Cats Smart x Wild Francine) is owned by Tori Campbell!

Winning the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle reserve championship title was CD Miss Pale Rey, owned and shown by Flint Lee. With a composite score of 439, the pair took home a check for $4,932 and a beautiful breast collar sponsored by Kevin and Karen Stallings.

CR Tuff Service and Jimmy Vanbelle took home the Limited Open Bridle championship title at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity! The pair took home a check for $1,500 after scoring a composite of 432, along with a trophy buckle sponsored by Anna Lisa Luna Construction! CR Tuff Service (2016 gelding, Woody Be Tuff X CR Shes Uh Secret) is owned by James and Alexa Vanbelle.

Haley Garcia and Genuinely Irish finished in the reserve championship spot with a composite score of 431, winning a check for $1,250. Genuinely Irish (2015 stallion, Paddys Irish Whisky x Desire A Doc) is owned by Garcia.

Calling Dibs and Gianna Hansen took home the 2024 Non Pro Hackamore championship title at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity, winning a check for $1,980! The secured the win with a composite score of 430.5, also winning a trophy buckle sponsored by Flying Two Ranch, Dan Macedo, along with Platinum Performance supplement sponsored by Platinum Performance and UltraCruz Foaming Shampoo sponsored by UltraCruz. Calling Dibs (2019 gelding, Call Me Mitch x Shine Di Light) is owned by Hansen.

I Believe and Cutter McLaughlin won the reserve championship title with a composite score of 425.5, adding an additional $1,650 to their 2024 Reno winnings (after a second place finish in the Non Pro Derby). I Believe (2020 gelding, Dont Stopp Believin x Shinin Peaches) is owned by Jay & Wendy McLaughlin.

Congratulations to the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity's Non Pro Boxing & Intermediate Non Pro Boxing Champions, Once Upon A Hicapoo and Avalon Goldstein! The Non Pro Boxing Championships are sponsored by Jerry & Pam Williams! Goldstein and Once Upon A Hicapoo (2017 gelding, Once In A Blu Boon x SDP Hydriven Hicapoo) marked a composite score of 438.5 and won a check for $4,980 in the Non Pro Boxing and $2,888.80 in the Intermediate Non Pro Boxing. Darcy Callahan and Voodoo Whisky not only won the Limited Non Pro Boxing, but also took home the reserve title in the Intermediate Non Pro Boxing, adding another $2,260.80 to their 2024 Reno earnings with a composite score of 432. Dre Deville and JD Thacker took home the Level One Open Futurity championship at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity presented by Scooter Kat! The pair earned a composite score of 643.5 (high herd work score of 215.5, 213.5 in the rein work and 214.5 in the fence work), which won them a check for $2,450 and a trophy buckle sponsored by 808 Ranch! They also won awards sponsored by Classic Equine, UltraCruz, and Platinum Performance! Dre Deville (Dual Reyish x Louella Deville) is owned by Ty & Melissa Fowler.

The Level One Open Futurity reserve championship went to Boon Krackin and Brad Rothrock! The pair scored a composite of 639.5 to secure their top finish (210 herd work, 213.5 rein work, and 216 fence work), earning them a check for $1,925 and a trophy buckle sponsored by Sprig Haven Farms, Pepper Snyder. Boon Krackin (Bet Hesa Boon x Wicheyed Becky) is owned by Julie Buchert.

Consigned to the 2022 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales as a yearling, Boon Krackin also secured the Sale Incentive win, adding $4,000 to their 2024 Reno earnings! The consigner, Matt Fischer, will also receive $1,000 for the win.

In the Limited Open Futurity at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity presented by Scooter Kat, Wicked Lil Roansmal and Titus Covington were crowned the division champions after marking a composite score of 648 (216 out of the herd, high rein work score of 216.5, and 215.5 down the fence)! The two won a check for $6,300, along with a trophy buckle sponsored in memory of Mike Pressley, a headstall sponsored by Classic Equine, and products sponsored by Platinum Performance and UltraCruz. Wicked Lil Roansmal (Wicked Echos x Smokin Lil Roansmal) is owned by Gary & Heidi McManus.

Andrew Steiger and Stylish Talker claimed the reserve championship title in the Limited Open Futurity division with a composite score of 644.5 (213.5 herd work, 214 rein work, and high fence score of 217.5)! Circling (pun intended) back to the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity's Open Futurity highlights: High Fence Scores! These were the top scores in the four Open divisions on Sunday afternoon:

Lance Johnston and Sisters Metallic turned right into the high fence score in the Open Futurity division, marking a 223.5! Sisters Metallic (Metallic Cat x Boon San Baby) is owned by Rocking BS Ranch.

In the Intermediate Open Futurity presented by SC Ranch Co, Inc., Dun In Hollywood and Flint Lee had the top spot with a 222.5 down the fence! Dun In Hollywood (Badboonarising x Brennas In Hollywood) is owned by Janet Kubichek.

There was a three-way tie for the Limited Open Futurity high fence score, with Stylish Talker, Cattatouille and Casino Catt all marking a 217.5! Stylish Talker (Smooth Talkin Style x Stylish Freckles) was shown by Andrew Steiger and owned by Scott & Darnell Trueblood. Cattatouille (Metallic Cat x One Shiney Rey) was ridden by Terrill Heaton and owned by Chelsea Christoffersen.

Casino Catt (Bet Hesa Cat x Janamatomia), owned and shown by JD Thacker, was also the high fence score winner in the Level 1 Open Futurity division!

Crue Dowers and Cabanna Girl made a sweep in the Non Pro divisions at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity presented by Scooter Kat, winning the Int Non Pro, Ltd Non Pro and Level 1 Non Pro Futurity championship titles and total of $11,703.80, including his 4th place finish in the Non Pro division! The pair finished with a composite score of 636.5 (205.5 herd work, 215 rein work, and a 216 high fence work). With the Int Non Pro Futurity Championship sponsored by GOTTA GO GET It and the 4-D Ranch, Dowers won a trophy buckle sponsored by Jim & Linda Schrack. In the Ltd Non Pro Futurity, they won a trophy buckle sponsored by Bonanza Casino. The Level 1 Non Pro Championship sponsored by JJ Fisher Construction, they took home their third buckle also sponsored by Bonanza Casino. In the Int Non Pro and Ltd Non Pro Futurity, Morgan Rogers and Kitty Talkin took home both reserve championship titles! With a composite score of 631 (high herd score of 213, 207 rein work and 211 fence work), they won a total of $4,698.25 including their check from 6th place in the Non Pro, along with an Int Non Pro buckle sponsored by Reno-Sparks Livestock Event Center and Ltd Non Pro buckle sponsored by Dave Archer.
