Many many times I’ve spoken about my personal hatred of retractable leashes, today for Wellness Wednesday I’m going to discuss some of the reasons you should consider throwing yours in the trash too!

🐶Length— allowing the dog to get so far away from the handler can quickly allow a dangerous situation for both human and even more so for the dog. In such a situation, it could also become almost impossible for the handler to regain control
🐶Most flexi-leads have a thin cord—that can easily wear down and snap and break.
🐶BURNS! who in owning dogs has not had leash burn at some point or another—heck I have a scar from leash burn on my ankle! The length as well as material of the leash can quite easily cause burning!
🐶Handles— flexi-leads have quite bulky and honestly quite awkwardly shaped handles. This type of handle requires a certain type of hold and could easily with a tug of a dog be gone from the handler and then the dog running loose.
🐶Training—although not a trainer myself. This type of handle is especially bad for those dogs who have not been taught proper leash manners.

Our Canine Copaiba Dog Treat

Our special treat blend is made to aid those dogs with anxiety and issues concerning their joints for those larger breeds and older pups. Copaiba essential oil is baked right into the treat and much like CBD it also helps with inflammation build up and skin issues of dogs too— BUT IS EVEN MORE EFFECTIVE!!! Also baked right in is the turmeric and cinnamon giving it that rusty color!

This treat is truly spectacular and literally we always keep some in our fridge for our own dogs! There is very little this treat CAN’T help with!

Crating the best kept secret in dog ownership!

I personally believe no matter the dogs age, size, or breed that crate training your dog is paramount to their life!
Today on Wellness Wednesday we’re going to discuss why they are good and the benefits of crate training

🐶 No matter if it’s between a groomer, vet, boarding, or more at some point in the life of your dog they will have to be in a crate at some point. Making sure they can be in their crate without immense stress is beneficial for your dog.
🐶 Another benefit of crate training is many dogs see their crate as a “den” per se. I’m the den aspect it helps a dog create a space that is their own and therefore helps curb some separation anxieties many dogs suffer with.

1000% some dogs have had bad crating experiences in their past, and those dogs have to begin crate training more slowly and deliberately to then create better aspects to it.
I HIGHLY recommend working with a trainer on how to introduce crate training or how to create better experiences for your dog around a crate as well.

Wesson’s Canine Bakery is a family owned dog bakery based in Peru, Indiana however we ship internationally! All of the treats we make are from the purest ingredients from local farms and are free from harmful dyes, preservatives, added sugars, additives, and chemicals.

Don’t be fooled by labels in the stores that say “All natural”. There are many commercial icings, sprinkles, biscuits, and treats that are indeed safe for dogs. However, they contain chemicals, dyes, artificial flavors, and other ingredients that either you can’t pronounce or have no idea what they are.... plainly they just aren’t healthy for your dog!

We strive to always make a treat that is a healthy option for your pet that is chemical free, preservative free, wholesome, human grade, and again just plain healthy!

All treats have been tested by the FDA and are licensed by the state of Indiana, and also tested by the 5 taste testers living in my home!
