Now that we’ve had a little more “processing time”…..
Bryce you are gone way way way too soon at only 3.5 years old to stinking bloat. The unpreventable quick killer.
For YEARS we’ve done “all the right things” and even until your passing we still did. Although it is unpreventable, unpredictable and so so fast I makes me strive to work on genetics of this breed even more so. How can we make these deep chested breeds even less susceptible and a healthier breed for the future.

I will not give up on the Bernese Mountain Dogs even though they break my heart with their short lives. Even more so I dedicate my life to them and my kennels and bakery to make them healthier and give them more longevity.

Also to all our praying friends he did sire one last litter 2 days prior to his passing and pray with us that the breeding took and we will have little Bryce nuggets coming.

Although our hearts will ache for a while we will do all we can to do more!

What is a hot spot? It is a red or inflamed lesion of skin. These spots are usually found on the dogs legs, or reachable areas where they are biting and scratching. Hot spots are very unlikely to go away on their own but can easily be treated. We’re going to discuss each of the ingredients in our hot spot spray and how it is beneficial to the healing process.

Aloe— aloe is soothing ointment that will reduce the urge to itch at it

Calendula— this herb is our go to for any type of skin irritations as it helps reduce the inflammation and promoted natural skin tissue healing

Vitamin E— much like with our paw balm and other skin solutions, vitamin E is a great additive to refresh the skin and help keep it healthy. In the case of hot spots, it promotes the skin to heal itself.

Geranium oil— this essential oil has been known to help with dermatitis and other skin ailments because of its antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. This oil can also kill any infections present in with the hot spot. This is a must in any hot spot treatment.

Lavender oil— this oil is known for killing of bacteria and will reduce the inflammation in the spot.

Bitter melon— obviously a hot spot occurred because your dog or cat has an irritated spot and they just wanna keep scratching or licking because they think it’ll help. Plus who doesn’t love the fresh smells of lavender and geranium; that’s why we put bitter melon in there— to combat their want and need to keep licking or biting at it with a horrid taste.

Our Story

Wesson’s Canine Bakery is a family owned dog bakery based in Peru, Indiana however we ship internationally! All of the treats we make are from the purest ingredients from local farms and are free from harmful dyes, preservatives, added sugars, additives, and chemicals.

Don’t be fooled by labels in the stores that say “All natural”. There are many commercial icings, sprinkles, biscuits, and treats that are indeed safe for dogs. However, they contain chemicals, dyes, artificial flavors, and other ingredients that either you can’t pronounce or have no idea what they are.... plainly they just aren’t healthy for your dog!

We strive to always make a treat that is a healthy option for your pet that is chemical free, preservative free, wholesome, human grade, and again just plain healthy!

All treats have been tested by the FDA and are licensed by the state of Indiana, and also tested by the 5 taste testers living in my home!
