Guinea Pig brothers Frick and Frack are an adorable little duo. Being quite small, they can be a bit timid at first meeting but are full of happy chirps and purrs once they start to feel comfortable. Jax is a beautiful six year old Siberian Husky who has been at the shelter since April 2023. Sometimes it takes a little longer for the perfect home to come along. Jax is a sweet boy who can be a little shy at first. Husky experience is preferred so please be prepared for everything that comes along with these intelligent, high-energy and independent dogs. Jax loves to play fetch as well as sit on the couch and watch Netflix (his favorite movie is Best in Show). Jax needs a loving owner who will continue to teach him good manners. Come say hello!

Say hello to Kaia, a ten year old sweetheart who is ready for a new start. Don’t let her age fool you. This terrific tabby is quite spry and loves to play. Kaia can be very affectionate and enjoys being petted, but would prefer to be the only pet in a home where she won’t have to share the spotlight.

It’s one of those adoptions when your heart is bursting with happiness. Spots found his forever home today. Spots is a year old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix who had been at the shelter since August. The shelter staff and volunteers worked daily giving Spots the training, patience and love he so needed. Have a great life, Spots. We live you! ❤️🐾

We are overjoyed to share that after 464 days at the shelter, Luanne was adopted today. She arrived neglected, living on the streets and was covered in marks from a purple sharpie. Thanks to the past 1.5 years of training, socialization and love from our shelter staff and volunteers, Luanne has blossomed into a confident, happy girl. Have a great life, Luanne. We love you! 🐾❤️

Are you thinking about adding a four-legged friend to your family? Please consider taking a trip this weekend to Riverside County Animal Services to adopt a dog. More than 1,000 dogs are currently being cared for by staff at Riverside County's four shelters - plain and simple, they are over capacity and they need help. Now.
The Riverside County Animal Services shelters (Western Riverside Animal Shelter, San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus, and Coachella Valley Animal Campus) will be open from 10am - 10pm on Saturday, May 25th and all ADOPTIONS ARE FREE. Blythe Animal Shelter will also be open from 10am - 4pm.
We of course always encourage you to visit the San Clemente Dana Point Animal Shelter and would love for you to consider adding one of our adoptables to your family, but as a No-Kill Shelter, we know that our animals have a bit of time to find their forever homes. Have you walked through a shelter? There’s usually lots of barking, lots of new sounds & smells. New people daily. Shelter dogs are often confused, they’re lost, they’re lonely and they’re often sick, injured or sleep deprived. I wouldn’t be my best self in those conditions, either. Give them some grace. Let them get to know you and show their real personality. Don’t just walk by the kennel of a barking, shaking, nervous dog and say “nope.” Take a few minutes to see the real dog under the exterior appearance❤️
Stevie and Arwen ringing in the new year. A special thanks to our volunteers who show up 365 days a year. People often ask me if it is hard to volunteer at the shelter. Quite the opposite. I think any animal that is lucky enough to land with us won the lottery. They will be loved and cared for until they find their forever home. No matter how long that takes. ❤️
It’s Christmas Eve and this was one of our playgroups. Brody (white) and Edna. This was their initial meet and it was a rousing success. Thank you to our dog handlers for coming out today so our pups could have some fun❤️❤️
