Let there be LIGHT!!! As some of you are aware, there have been several huddles along the way including the ever-important power permit. Big celebratory day with Duke Energy setting the meter and getting to flip some switches. 💡⚡️

Work on Wing 4 is wrapping up! The tack room is ready. Soon the bathroom and lounge will be as well (excited to have a washer and dryer). The wash stalls look fantastic and it will be awesome to have hot water in the Winter. 💪🎉
Shoooo-weeee with SO much going on, there has been little time for updates. Work on the final wing ( #4) is progressing quickly and we will have the lounge with a W/D and a bathroom complete with a shower. The feed and tack rooms are looking good and both wash stalls are complete with mats being installed soon. The electric will wrap up next week and we can't wait to have lights!! The center court is being prepped for round pen use. We now have four special rehab turnouts and shelters are going in the front fields.
First load of sawdust was delivered to the new storage building and it's definitely tall enough!
Long overdue update of all that's going on at the Ranch. The paint job is complete and it looks fantastic!! Halter boxes have been built and they sure are handy. The sawdust building is going up and up and up. Six weeks ago we started moving horses in and they are all quite content with their new digs. More work to go but there is glimpse of the tunnel's end.
The fencing is complete and it looks FANTASTIC!!! Cannot say enough about the amazing job done by Cordrey Fencing, LLC. Zach and his team were great to work with. We now have 4 large turnouts with run-in sheds, 5 smaller turnouts that will have shelters, the broodmare field with a dry lot, and Lebroney pony's special area.🎉🐴🏡
Windows have been installed and the siding finished in preparation for the paint job! 👩🎨 The last of the 6 run-in sheds from Carolina Storage Solutions have been delivered and they look fantastic. 🐴🏡 Fencing continues and the roofing materials have been delivered. Cool views of the Back 10. 😎
So much progress with way more to go! Stalls are done in the 3 "horse" wings and the exterior footing is prep. The turn-outs are a sea of posts in preparation for the interior fencing thanks to the amazing work of Cordrey Fencing, LLC!!
Much going on all at once.
Biggest news being the first horses have arrived!! 🎉 Maui and Ellie are settling in well and enjoying their special broodmare area. Three more run-in sheds have been delivered and look great. Stalls have been installed in all three "horse" wings and work on the stallion stalls has begun. 😀
The perimeter fencing is going in and it looks fantastic thanks to Cordrey Fencing, LLC!! The first 2 run-in sheds have been delivered. 💪🎉
The first Wing of stalls is nearly complete and they look amazing! Soon concrete will be poured in the aisle.
The first stall is going in!!! 🎉 Next week we will install the front, hang the door, and lay the mats. Two of the four entrance porches are complete. Horse shoe for good luck.
View from the top of Ethel’s knoll. Footers have been poured and the entrance porches are going in. Turn-outs are being marked; Lebroney gets his “special” area because he is!
The overhangs are going in on the outside and posts are being set for the stall dividers. Changes had to be in the center court area which will now be open with a free-standing roof. The burn piles in the lower field are almost done burning.
Today marks 4 years of making a dream come true! Trust me this journey has been beyond difficult but as the song says, “Hold to a Dream”!
The Back10 looks great after being bush hogged. Ranch “couple” at work.
Footing for the stalls have been completed; prep has begun for the dividers and stall fronts. Top vents have been installed in 3 of the 4 wings. The new maintenance shed is a huge asset. The old wind movers never cease to make me smile.

Siding is going up on the barn and hay storage building; the barn roof will match the hay building. The maintenance shed is nearing completion.
Thanks to a new bush hog attachment for the excavator, the bank along Clear Creek in the lower field has been nicely cleared. Big coyote tracks in the arena!
Weather station has now reported a temperature of 0.9! Thankful to have not lost power. 🥶🥶
Future stalls are coming along and the stall fronts and partitions have arrived! Work on the maintenance shed is progressing. Soon all of the beloved ”Kubota Orange” equipment will have a great home.

As we all know, horse ownership can be heart breaking and being the human caretaker is an honor. Hoping the resting place will continue to bring peace for those souls who have passed.
The stallion wing is fully framed! Siding and roofing to come. 🎊
So much progress! The fourth and final “wing” is taking stape. Our hay storage building will be complete soon.
