Hey guys I want you to meet a special little horse. Miss Quinn has been with me for a few months, and she is being completely restarted. She is about 10 years old, and 15 hh. She doesn’t mind anything but just didn’t know as much as I felt she should to continue riding. Doesn’t balk at a saddle or rider and will walk off/guide.
She came to me from an owner that wanted her to have a better situation. Unfortunately she is not going to fit into my lesson program, which is okay! She needs a good confident person, not multiple beginners or someone that lacks confidence. She is incredibly smart and does have some knowledge. While she’s here I’ll work on expanding that to see where she will fit in. Barrel or ranch horse, it hasn’t been decided yet. She is in a stall right now but can be kept out to pasture. Is easy to catch, and low on the totem pole. I’m talking very bottom.
Videos will be available this week. And better pictures. Mother Nature has been nuts so it’s put me behind with her.
What she does know:
Lunge both ways, stop and turn directions
Hard ties to a wall or anywhere she’s tied really
Loves being groomed
Takes tack and a rider without issue. Will stand to be mounted.
Ground drives pretty decent. Walk/trot with changes of direction, stop and back up
Decent ground manners, can get impatient. Doesn’t run over you or bolt.
Loads/unloads well, and hauls good. Will work on her backing off a trailer once everything isn’t ice and snow outside.
What she needs work on:
Expanding her riding knowledge
Building confidence in people
Picking up feet. She will but gets antsy so could be better
Patience, being left tied especially. This could potentially carry over into riding as anxiety so I’m doing what I need to do to prevent that.
Backing off a trailer
Cross ties, just haven’t put her in them yet.
She is available now as a prospect and project. She does not need moved yet, but will need to be eventually. Every horse deserves a home with individualized attention, her especially. She’s a sweet girl that deserves the best.
