Trail boss and making kids giggle the whole time, why hasn’t this mare found her home yet?? Miss Tamira is available and hoping she’ll have her own home by the holidays. I’ll get a more updated post about her this week for everyone 🦄

The kids putting their horses up after a nice quick trail ride this afternoon. The weather was great and the view was even better! 🍁🍂

Get your time in for some trail riding before the weather gets to bad, openings on select weekends and an opening through the week. Basic, beginner and specialized lessons available as well!

I’ll have one training spot open December 1st. If interested comment or message any questions you may have.

I’ll have some time for trail riding lessons before the weather turns bad. These will go quick as there aren’t many spots available.

I’m also still taking lessons throughout the week if you have your own horse. If lessons open up on my horses I will let everyone know.

Thanks and enjoy your fall!! 🍁🍂

When I tell you this horse loves my kid I mean it. She’s so good and gentle with him. (Yes I told him to get up onto his feet right after I snapped this picture) I always tell everyone she’s just a horse, there’s nothing super flashy about her, but she’s safe and predictable. If you can steer and pull back a little to say whoa you can ride her. Miss Tamira has put on a good amount of weight over the last few months. She’s still leery of new people but once she knows you, she’ll remember you. She’s a great trail horse. Go over, through or under anything you ask. We’re working on her confidence on the ground with strangers in small doses.

I made the decision to keep her here after the ATFO (which she did not attend) so she wouldn’t have to be shuffled around so much. I’ve used her in a couple lessons with beginners that know the basics. Not suitable for a young kid if they tend to daydream as she’ll take you where she wants to go (usually back to her pasture or stall 😅). I’ve just let her chill and be able to relax for the most part. If anyone is looking for a good gaited trail horse this is your girl

I have some lesson openings for afternoon/evenings during the week. If you’d like more info please message or comment. Starting in November I’ll have Saturday afternoons available as well.

Lessons are focused on horsemanship and making you a better rider despite discipline. From groundwork to riding skills it is all covered. You will have the opportunity to learn to go between any discipline and how to make the changes necessary. Main disciplines are ranch horse, barrels/poles, dry work for cow work and trail riding. Look for some English disciplines to hopefully be added late fall or the end of the year!

Training spots will be open in November as well.

Well you all are going to have to excuse my lack of pictures because my camera has decided it’s done with me 😅

Miss Tamira has been doing really good. She’s enjoying her alfalfa as you can see. The last couple weeks I’ve learned so much about this girl.

The pros

✨She’s fearless on the trail
✨ She wants to please under saddle
✨She’s excited to go do work!
✨She LOVES carrots 🥕
✨She’s clean in her stall
✨For a white horse she stays relatively white 🤍😅
✨Shes safe for just about anyone under saddle as long as you know the basics
✨She bonds to her person

The cons

♨️She really only bonds to one person and it starts over with every new person she meets
♨️ She tends to be shut down on the ground, which is why she flees from things that make her nervous.
♨️She can be pacey, but with consistent work she is able to go into a nice 4 beat gait.
♨️She has some minor allergies that make her eyes water 🤧
♨️She needs a soft girth as she has sensitive skin

This mare hasn’t had it easy, but she’s never been abused or through some of the horrors some HOP horses have. She’s been bounced around from a couple different places. The trainers that had her before me gave her such a good foundation and a wonderful start. That sticks with this horse, and slowly (but faster thanks to those before me) I’ve been able to chip away at those walls she has up. She’s learning to trust people, more of her personality is shining through, and she’s starting to become a favorite for my lessons to visit and love on.

We are still looking for sponsors for the next two months board. (Thank you Emily Kamal for helping with her first month of board and the chopped alfalfa🤍) I also put together a wishlist of things from Amazon. I’ll post the link below. Monetary donations can come to me through Venmo (), PayPal (), or directly through the rescue for a tax deduction (just make sure to use my name or so they know who it goes to).

As a showcase Miss Tamira is available to adopt now. I highly recommend you to come out meet her, and set aside plenty of time so you can really get to know her. You’ll need to fill out the adoption application through Heart of Phoenix as well in order to come meet her.

Sneak peak of before I let our next riding video out 🤩 she’s making improvements each day.

She’ll make a nice confident rider a great little horse. I’m currently looking for sponsorships to see about getting her back to my place. If any of you may know of a business or individual interested in sponsoring her let me know! This will also allow her to start her ulcer medication which will be crucial to her health.

Look at how cute Miss Tamira is 😍

Tamira can honestly be SUCH a doll, but sometimes her anxiety gets the best of her. She’s had it rough guys and that’s almost proved an uphill battle. For horses that keep getting returned to the rescue they learn that there’s no stability. Tamira needs stability, she needs to know you are going to be her person. She needs to have clear boundaries with her person as well. She’s not mean by any means but sometimes that scary stuff makes her want to run away. We’re better but it’s going to take time. Fly spray is her arch nemisis right now lol.

She rides great and is safe. Like safe enough i would feel confident throwing just about anyone up on her and going for a trail ride. She’s not fancy broke, but she’ll go where you point her. She has a cute little gait that we have been slowly getting more of instead of that pace she was so used to doing. Lots and lots of ground work, which is why I haven’t posted a lot of riding videos of her. They’ll be some coming this week so stay tuned!!

Do you feel like she may be a right fit for your home? If so please contact Heart of Phoenix about adopting her.

I also have an open stall as of right now 👀 so if anyone wants to sponsor her board get ahold of me. This was completely unexpected but hey it may be a good thing 😉

Keep an eye out watching because I don’t think she’s one you’ll want to miss out on.

I have one spot open for training, if it’s going to be filled I need a horse within the first week of June. Performance horses include racking, barrel, ranch and cowhorse. C**t starting, tune ups and problem solving are all accepted too. Whether it just needs miles or seasoned I can help you out. If interested send me a message for more details.

The past week has been a whirlwind. This little mare has been with me for right under a year. She had some things we needed to work out, and the goal was to get her ready to show. Well I’d say she’s there! This mare passed all of our expectations at one of our local shows. She went in and showed like she had been doing it all her life. She’ll be with me for a couple more months while we get her and her owner in the show ring a couple times. It’s been a privilege to be able to work with this horse.

Congrats Music City Queen “Lacie” on your first place at your debut show. Now we want to wish good luck to her and her Owner, Olivia Patterson, on the rest of the show year. I’m sure you two will do great things and I’m beyond proud of the work we’ve been able to do.

No better way to come back from a social media break to announce some huge things coming up!

First I want to introduce you to this little mare, Tamira. She’s a horse with Heart Of Phoenix Equine Rescue, and I’ll be showcasing her this year. She’s a cute little gaited mare with the sweetest personality. She’s super safe under saddle after doing my evaluation on her the other day. Not fancy broke (yet), but willing to go along and do whatever. I have a feeling she’ll make a great trail horse, or even a little play day horse. Her gait is one of the smoothest I’ve felt in a while.

We do have a couple hurdles to get through, and even though she is available for adoption now we still need to work on these things. For that reason if she does get adopted quickly I’d love for her person to come down and work with me some to get to know her. They will also have the option to send her for training with me for a discounted rate or do lessons if close enough.

She’s not confident, she gets flustered easily but will work through it. She is also hard to catch in an open field. She’ll be starting ulcer meds and getting some extras in her feed until her weight is where I’d like it. For starters, we’ll be starting on her with some chopped alfalfa and probiotics. I’ll make a list here soon just for her, but for now you can donate directly through Heart of Phoenix and have it sent there.

And there in lies the next hurdle. She is not at my barn, I’m currently traveling to her at Mulligan. Even though I’m a trainer there I’m donating my time with her, and I’m hoping to take her to a few events if she’s not adopted soon. If you wish to donate anything at all to her care or my expense we would sure appreciate it. I’m hoping we can find her a home sooner rather than later because this girl needs her person.

I’ll be doing a more detailed post about her story and her in general this weekend, along with better pictures because this girl is cute as a button 🥰
