I have some lesson openings for afternoon/evenings during the week. If you’d like more info please message or comment. Starting in November I’ll have Saturday afternoons available as well.

Lessons are focused on horsemanship and making you a better rider despite discipline. From groundwork to riding skills it is all covered. You will have the opportunity to learn to go between any discipline and how to make the changes necessary. Main disciplines are ranch horse, barrels/poles, dry work for cow work and trail riding. Look for some English disciplines to hopefully be added late fall or the end of the year!

Training spots will be open in November as well.

Well you all are going to have to excuse my lack of pictures because my camera has decided it’s done with me 😅

Miss Tamira has been doing really good. She’s enjoying her alfalfa as you can see. The last couple weeks I’ve learned so much about this girl.

The pros

✨She’s fearless on the trail
✨ She wants to please under saddle
✨She’s excited to go do work!
✨She LOVES carrots 🥕
✨She’s clean in her stall
✨For a white horse she stays relatively white 🤍😅
✨Shes safe for just about anyone under saddle as long as you know the basics
✨She bonds to her person

The cons

♨️She really only bonds to one person and it starts over with every new person she meets
♨️ She tends to be shut down on the ground, which is why she flees from things that make her nervous.
♨️She can be pacey, but with consistent work she is able to go into a nice 4 beat gait.
♨️She has some minor allergies that make her eyes water 🤧
♨️She needs a soft girth as she has sensitive skin

This mare hasn’t had it easy, but she’s never been abused or through some of the horrors some HOP horses have. She’s been bounced around from a couple different places. The trainers that had her before me gave her such a good foundation and a wonderful start. That sticks with this horse, and slowly (but faster thanks to those before me) I’ve been able to chip away at those walls she has up. She’s learning to trust people, more of her personality is shining through, and she’s starting to become a favorite for my lessons to visit and love on.

We are still looking for sponsors for the next two months board. (Thank you Emily Kamal for helping with her first month of board and the chopped alfalfa🤍) I also put together a wishlist of things from Amazon. I’ll post the link below. Monetary donations can come to me through Venmo (), PayPal (), or directly through the rescue for a tax deduction (just make sure to use my name or so they know who it goes to).

As a showcase Miss Tamira is available to adopt now. I highly recommend you to come out meet her, and set aside plenty of time so you can really get to know her. You’ll need to fill out the adoption application through Heart of Phoenix as well in order to come meet her.

Sneak peak of before I let our next riding video out 🤩 she’s making improvements each day.

She’ll make a nice confident rider a great little horse. I’m currently looking for sponsorships to see about getting her back to my place. If any of you may know of a business or individual interested in sponsoring her let me know! This will also allow her to start her ulcer medication which will be crucial to her health.

Look at how cute Miss Tamira is 😍

Tamira can honestly be SUCH a doll, but sometimes her anxiety gets the best of her. She’s had it rough guys and that’s almost proved an uphill battle. For horses that keep getting returned to the rescue they learn that there’s no stability. Tamira needs stability, she needs to know you are going to be her person. She needs to have clear boundaries with her person as well. She’s not mean by any means but sometimes that scary stuff makes her want to run away. We’re better but it’s going to take time. Fly spray is her arch nemisis right now lol.

She rides great and is safe. Like safe enough i would feel confident throwing just about anyone up on her and going for a trail ride. She’s not fancy broke, but she’ll go where you point her. She has a cute little gait that we have been slowly getting more of instead of that pace she was so used to doing. Lots and lots of ground work, which is why I haven’t posted a lot of riding videos of her. They’ll be some coming this week so stay tuned!!

Do you feel like she may be a right fit for your home? If so please contact Heart of Phoenix about adopting her.

I also have an open stall as of right now 👀 so if anyone wants to sponsor her board get ahold of me. This was completely unexpected but hey it may be a good thing 😉

Keep an eye out watching because I don’t think she’s one you’ll want to miss out on.

The past week has been a whirlwind. This little mare has been with me for right under a year. She had some things we needed to work out, and the goal was to get her ready to show. Well I’d say she’s there! This mare passed all of our expectations at one of our local shows. She went in and showed like she had been doing it all her life. She’ll be with me for a couple more months while we get her and her owner in the show ring a couple times. It’s been a privilege to be able to work with this horse.

Congrats Music City Queen “Lacie” on your first place at your debut show. Now we want to wish good luck to her and her Owner, Olivia Patterson, on the rest of the show year. I’m sure you two will do great things and I’m beyond proud of the work we’ve been able to do.

No better way to come back from a social media break to announce some huge things coming up!

First I want to introduce you to this little mare, Tamira. She’s a horse with Heart Of Phoenix Equine Rescue, and I’ll be showcasing her this year. She’s a cute little gaited mare with the sweetest personality. She’s super safe under saddle after doing my evaluation on her the other day. Not fancy broke (yet), but willing to go along and do whatever. I have a feeling she’ll make a great trail horse, or even a little play day horse. Her gait is one of the smoothest I’ve felt in a while.

We do have a couple hurdles to get through, and even though she is available for adoption now we still need to work on these things. For that reason if she does get adopted quickly I’d love for her person to come down and work with me some to get to know her. They will also have the option to send her for training with me for a discounted rate or do lessons if close enough.

She’s not confident, she gets flustered easily but will work through it. She is also hard to catch in an open field. She’ll be starting ulcer meds and getting some extras in her feed until her weight is where I’d like it. For starters, we’ll be starting on her with some chopped alfalfa and probiotics. I’ll make a list here soon just for her, but for now you can donate directly through Heart of Phoenix and have it sent there.

And there in lies the next hurdle. She is not at my barn, I’m currently traveling to her at Mulligan. Even though I’m a trainer there I’m donating my time with her, and I’m hoping to take her to a few events if she’s not adopted soon. If you wish to donate anything at all to her care or my expense we would sure appreciate it. I’m hoping we can find her a home sooner rather than later because this girl needs her person.

I’ll be doing a more detailed post about her story and her in general this weekend, along with better pictures because this girl is cute as a button 🥰

‼️Hey guys important notice so please take note! ‼️

This week is supposed to be incredibly hot, in the mid to upper 90’s most days. If you are scheduled for lessons please make sure to bring extra water and hydrate before you come. I will have as much water as I can, but I want to make sure there’s enough for everyone. Also if we are riding outside make sure to have sunscreen for you and your child(ren).

Thanks everyone and stay cool this week!

Alright guys I have an updated lesson schedule with a couple open spots!

Lessons will now be Monday through Thursday morning or afternoon. It’s also looking like I will have two Saturdays available every month for lessons in house and/or travel. These will vary depending on show schedule so if you are a regular please check in the week before.

Unfortunately I do not have any evening lessons open at this time.

The beginning of June I will have room to take on one or two horses that I can travel for. I can not bring any horses in for training at this time as I am booked. If we have spoken about a spot for training for your horse I have you down and this only pertains to new clients.

Thanks for all the understanding and patience as I work out all the quirks in scheduling! 🤍

Alright guys here’s the post! Since I’m having trouble uploading videos 🙄

Rhonda and I won the ranch hand class and were second in the #2. Her and Lux took the gate position in most of our classes, and if you don’t know that’s probably the hardest spot if things go awry. They handled it like champs to make sure our runs were clean and bring home the win and place us.

I won the #2 with my partner Grace (I’m sorry I didn’t catch her last name.) we had a great run and had 8 cows in, missing the last two by a literal second.

Jack rode miss Kitty in like 6 different runs and handled it great! He had mainly clean runs and I think he placed in the Helping Hands class.

Speaking of the helping hands class, it’s for a great cause and I hope to see more of you all in it next time! We had tons of fun with it.

Kitty and Lux were rockstars this weekend. These sortings are long days with hard work involved. We got to work with some fresh cattle again and it was amazing. Excited for the next one in the series at Pine Creek Horseman's Camp in 2 weeks time. Thank you Smoke Rise for a wonderful time. These may be loads of fun but the people behind it all are amazing. Be sure to thank your producers and show support by coming out to participate and spreading the word.

I will give a more detailed update later, but yesterday was a pretty good day! The horses were great, the riders rode our hearts out, and the cows were right on the money. Thank you Smoke Rise Ranch for another great sorting! We’ll be back at Pine Creek in a couple weeks, and we can’t wait to see everyone again. While I try and get more photos or videos together enjoy this pic of Jack looking awfully ranchy on Miss Kitty.

Whew what a weekend! We had a great time yesterday at the first sorting at Pine Creek Horseman’s Camp. This is the first in a series they are doing with Smoke Rise Ranch, and the next one is next weekend. They had fresh cows, good people and great horses! It was nice to get out and see some friendly faces. The horses worked good, Kitty was cow fresh as all get out but hey it’s on par for her 😂. Lux and Rhonda were little rockstars! Jack even took Kitty in the youth and did a great job! Proud of the team we took and everyone that was there. Can’t wait for the next one!

Summer is right around the corner and we’re loving this weather! 🌼

Saturday lessons are on a week to week basis due to show conflicts. Wednesdays and Fridays are days for makeup lessons if you don’t want to wait until the next week. My Tuesdays are still available for two spots. I also have room if you have your own horse!

This weekend (and next) we will be sorting! If you’ve never seen it or want to see something new come on out. This weekend we will be at Pine Creek Horseman’s Camp, and next weekend we will be at Smoke Rise.

Looking to add a couple more outside training horses to fill up my schedule, because I’m not busy enough 😅. Whether they be horses you’re having issues with, ones that haven’t been touched, or something that needs to be finished I can help you out! I have the time so let me help you and your horse reach your goals!

Let’s do a throwback video of Jack and I during his first sorting last year, he did an awesome job!

Recap part ✌🏼

Next was our little rockstar of the day, Miss Lux. She’s a horse who I trained for a little bit last year and then started to get her ready beginning of this year to season her. She had been to a couple places late last fall for a barrel race and a couple sortings. Cows are her favorite but barrels come a close second lol. She hauls great, took in a new arena and went in to do her job. This mare has came a long way in a short amount of time. We did a couple runs of slow work then let her cruise through her first set away from home. She did wonderful! Unfortunately due to a tack malfunction that was our last run, pictures are posted on a couple posts back for reference.

Break down time..
She came into the first a little lost but with a little bit of directions she zeroed in on what she needed to do. It was a little wide which made her get a stuck behind for half a second. Her second was near perfect, and about a stride out from the third my stirrup gave way. I figured might as well turn this barrel because she’s been so good 😂 but let’s not run home, that’s why I pulled her up after the third.

Over all it was a great experience that boosted her confidence and now I need to get my saddle fixed before the end of April.

02/04/2023

Alright let’s get into the recap 💭

I’ve been trying some different things with my own mare. Our first barrel has always been kind of tricky, if we get it our runs are great if not well you can use your imagination. We’ve went back to basics, done lots of slow work all in trying to find the root of the issue so I can fix it. I’ve been toying around with different bits and this was only her second time ever in this bit. I figure go for broke let’s try this. Our first run wasn’t great but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Went back did some slow work, did some circles and really focused on getting her flexed and into a frame that would make that first barrel easier on her (and me). I think we’re finally on the right track and I’m excited to see how this goes this year.

To give a break down we just loped to the first barrel and she did her job. Came into the 2nd a little wonky which made our exit wide, in turn I pulled on her more than I wanted. Pretty sure that’s when the bit got pulled through (see pictures at the end of previous post for reference.) Our third was decent, even with the bridle trying to come off.

Side note, I have videos of all the work if anyone is interested in learning the whys of what I’ve done. Facebook won’t let me post more than one video at a time though.

We’re officially in full swing for show season, and it would start out no other way than appropriate for me 😅 (anyone that’s been on trip adventures with me knows what I mean lol)

We ended up having some truck issues and once we got to to the show we were so late we missed the show, but they were gracious enough to let me work the horses. On freshly drug ground may I add. It was a great experience to work out a few kinks and let the horses see somewhere new. Thank you Equine Boarding and Rescue for letting me ride, love your place and hopefully we can make it to more of your shows!

Had a few tack malfunctions but the horses worked great over all. Really excited about this pair. They’ll be hauled together a lot this year between barrel races and sortings.

Hope everyone was able to stay safe with yesterdays weather and can’t wait to see everyone this year, whether it be my clients or those of you I’ll be showing with!

Welcome to spring everyone! With the first couple outings under our belt and a full show schedule this year I want to offer up my last couple openings.

I have two lesson spots available as of right now. ▶️Tuesday afternoon for a beginner.
▶️Thursday evening for any level.
▶️I also have spots open for lessons if you have your own horse, on and off site. Message me about scheduling those.

I also want to open up my offer to train two horses off site. It can be full time or part time or just ones that need to be exercised. Comfortable on green horses, problem horses, young ones, and finished ones. I’ve ridden saddlebreds, racking horses and quarter horses of many disciplines.

I have one spot for on site training open as of right now. Includes turnout, can be with another horse or by itself depending on the horses needs and weather.

If you have any questions feel free to message me on here or my personal account. Thanks y’all and hope to see everyone out and about this year! 🌼
