Check out this beautiful Voren Black Capped Conure! 😍

Also known as an opaline black capped conure, this pure-bred mutation was discovered by Voren Aviaries in Miami when a pair of black-capped conures produced an interesting color mutation that was so rare, it had never been described and until recently, never given a specific name. Voren believed this was the same color factor that was responsible for the yellow-sided conure. In recent years it has been decided that the yellow-sided color mutation of the green-cheeked conure is most probably an opaline mutation.

Did you know Birds by Joe’s parrots were used in the filming of “Boardwalk Empire”? 🎥 We traveled to an old castle in Pennsylvania for a 12 hour HBO shoot. They had an antique cage so we had to modify a java tree stand to fit inside. We brought macaws, conures and a jardine’s parrot! 🦜 Swipe to the end to see the exact scene the birds were in 🎬
