Hooves To Freedom "God will make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which He is putting everything as it should be, under and around Him." Phil. 3:21

Who we are-
Hooves to Freedom, Inc. offers Equine and animal assisted activities for individuals ages 8-108. Our focus is to minister to those mental, cognitive, and behavioral disorders. We also have specific activities for victims of trauma, abuse, and grief. All of our sessions are faith based and Scripture oriented. Hooves to Freedom believes it is not the people or horses that bring healing a

nd wholeness, but God who uses us and our equine partners for His purposes of hope, freedom, and healing. HTF wants to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth by bringing the hope of salvation and healing through the sharing of Scripture and by working with horses. We are proud to be a Similar Ministry of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch in Bend, OR. www.crystalpeaksyouthranch.org

“But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:16-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

🌟 Important Update 🌟

We regret to inform you that, due to rising costs, we have made the difficult decision to not pursue our poinsettia fundraiser this year. We deeply appreciate all the support and enthusiasm you’ve shown for this event in the past. 🙏🎄

However, there are still wonderful ways you can support Hooves to Freedom! You can become a sponsor for our annual race coming up in January. Your support is vital and will help us continue our mission. 🏇✨

If you’re still interested in purchasing poinsettias, our friends at Sapp's Florists will be offering the same beautiful poinsettias we’ve had in previous years. They’re a fantastic local business and would be happy to help you find the perfect blooms! 🌺

Introducing our Horse of the Month: Asa!

Asa
Question 1 How long have you been a therapy horse?

I have only recently started working with a few students and other helpers in the past two years but I have lived at HTF since I was 5 months old.

Question 2 Did you know Blaze?
I didn’t know Blaze but I carry a tassel of his mane with me on my adventures with our girl. It was Blaze’s job to take mom on adventures and now I gladly do it.

Question 3 Who is your best friend?
Solomon is my best friend now but I enjoy spending time with Gabe the donkey and my friends Shelby and Morningstar because I used to live with them when I was younger.

Question 4 What is your favorite activity to do?
I love to go away from the farm and explore on the trail.

Question 5 What do you love most about HTF?
Every morning I greet mom at the back gate waiting for her to wake up and feed me breakfast.

Question 6 What is something most people don’t know about you?
Once, I went camping with mom overnight. We walked more than 16 miles through the mountains. I wasn’t afraid at all.

Asa is one of our horses available for sponsorship through Blaze’s Fund.

If you've been to the farm, you've seen Harriet. When she's not taking horse riding lessons, she's listening to what people are saying around the farm. Apparently Harriet heard we have the best helpers... we think she's right!

🐴 Introducing our Horse of the Month: Solomon 🐴

Solomon is a red roan colored Quarter Horse gelding who was donated to HTF as a young three year old. Ms. Hil used to tell people he was 3 going on 30 because he was so laid back. He was born on April 2, 2013, and was born with congenital lordosis, or swayback. But that is not a disability to him. He is very comfortable under saddle with a special pad just for him! Solomon is Ms. Logan’s pride and joy. She and Solomon have a very special bond. He even will come running to greet her at the pasture gate. She’s worked hard and trained him for Western riding, specifically ranch horse competition. Solomon is a very peaceful natured horse. When he was donated to us, he really didn’t have a name he went by. One day praying, the Lord gave Ms. Hil the name Solomon meaning peace.

Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know that spending time with horses can help improve your balance and coordination? 🐴✨ Horse therapy, also known as equine-assisted therapy, involves activities like grooming, feeding, and riding horses, which can significantly enhance motor skills and body awareness. The rhythmic motion of riding a horse mimics the natural movement of walking, providing therapeutic benefits for people with physical disabilities. Plus, interacting with these gentle giants can boost your mood and reduce stress. It’s a win-win! 🌟🐎

Horses communicate with each other through a variety of vocalizations and body language. They use their ears, eyes, and nostrils to express their mood, and they often neigh, whinny, or nicker to get attention or convey their feelings.

How have you seen horses communicate?
