I usually don’t support GoFundMe’s for folks I don’t know but this effort is for a Gates dog struck by a hit and run driver. Considering that 180 people have donated, I figure the owner is well-known for her rescue efforts in the community.

Poor Duke will lose his front leg and has a broken back leg. His vet bills are estimated at more than $20,000. I donated, figuring it’s a good way to “pay it forward” from all the funds I’ve received for taking care of some of the best dogs in the world!

I do this when I meet a new dog client. I talk softly, move slowly and let the dog sniff me out before making personal contact with it. I do this ESPECIALLY when the dog is jumping up on me as this shows that they can’t get my attention with aggressive behavior. When they calm down, THEN I give them love!
