vom Cabin Creek Drahthaars Hi, I’m Bo Waller. Drahthaars can hunt waterfowl in the morning and upland birds the rest of the day.

I have been hunting for over 25 years over a variety of different dog breeds and have found that the drahthaar has exceeded all of my expectations as hunting dogs, and family pets. They can swim and run as well as any breed, but where I feel they excel is after the shot. I hunt wild birds in California, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Nebraska. No matter where we are, if you have a duck in thick cover o

r a pheasant in heavy brush these dogs will not give up and will continue to track until they find it. My wife, Jamie, and kids Johnny, Justin Kathryn, Michael and Joseph are all just as in love with this breed as I am. My wife and daughter care for the pups of our litters as much as I do, and we all want to see these dogs go to homes where they will hunt and be treated as we treat our dogs: as a part of the family. Our kennel has placed dogs from Alaska over to the east coast.

8 years ago today we lost our Sagee girl, the momma that started it all- Erra vom Orion. She will forever be in our hearts. Miss her so much. Her legacy lives on with us through her granddaughter and great granddaughter and grandson Faith, Iggy & Lyla vom Cabincreek.

The Loma Rica VGP/HZP now called the Kirby Smith Memorial test went awesome this last week! Had some very nice scores including Katie Edwards who ran Licah vom Cabin Creek in the HZP with the high score of the weekend with a 191! Shout out to Brandon who ran Cal vom Hubert Schmlede (also one of Iggy’s pups) in his first VGP and got a prize 11 313 also high score of the weekend! Then Burton ran his first HZP and ran 2 dogs- Leonard vom Cabin Creek with a score of 184 and Doc vom V.d.Eichenspitz (another Iggy pup) with a 172!
Lyla vom Cabin creek ran by Bo received a 174 in the HZP.
We were very happy with all the Cabin Creek dogs this weekend, thank you all for taking the time to train and run them through the testing system. It is very much appreciated.

We also want to send a huge thank you to Bob Worrell and all the judges, apprentices and field Marshall’s for all your hard work and dedication. Especially want to thank Kurt & Mary Hilbers and Burton & Stacey Christopherson for the use of the property and your toys! This test couldn’t happen without all of you!

Thank you to Kirby’s family for all coming up this weekend and joining us in the celebration for the First Annual Kirby Smith Memorial test and for the great cookies and wine!

Overall great test with awesome people and great dogs!

We are very proud and happy of our youngest son Joseph who ran his first test this weekend. He ran Lyla vom Cabin Creek in the Susanville VJP for a score of 66! Good job Joseph & Lyla. Even tho they struggled a little with tracking Lyla got an 11 in pointing and 11 in cooperation. They make a great team. Looking forward to them running in the fall. Special thanks to all the Judges (Geoff, Heiko & Bob) you did a great time of helping and guiding our son.
