Welcome Dr. Ashley Waldvogel! 😃💙
Dr. Waldvogel grew up in Dewitt, Michigan. She got her Bachelors in Animal Science from Michigan State University in 2020 and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. The thing Dr. Waldvogel loves most about her job is building strong relationships with her patients and their owners through embracing the human-animal bond. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, and nutrition. Outside of work Dr. Waldvogel enjoys reading, playing pickle ball, yoga, watching movies, and spending time with her Husband and cats. She has 4 black cats named Norman, Edgar, Wednesday, and Freddy. Edgar has one eye and Freddy is a tri-pod. Dr. Waldvogel joined the VCA Family from 2021-2023 as a Veterinary Assistant and is excited to be back as a DVM.

With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.
Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.
If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Tornadoes form during intense thunderstorms and can reach wind speeds of 200+ mph. Although tornadoes can occur anywhere, they are prevalent in the Southeast and Midwest. Stay informed by downloading the FEMA app and signing up for weather reports and evacuation notices.

Wild Thang, an 8-year-old Pekingese, and his owner Ann Lewis stop by TODAY to celebrate his newly crowned title of World’s Ugliest Dog after competing in the contest five times. NBC’s Gadi Schwartz, who was a judge in the competition, shares highlights for TODAY.
This months employee highlight goes to our Hospital Manager Jen Hudson. Jen was in human med for 20 years before coming to VCA Jackson where she became a veterinary assistant and then became our VA Supervisor. In February she was officially promoted to our Hospital Manager. She grew up in Jackson with her husband, 3 children, 2 grandsons, and a large loving family! She also has 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 horses that keep her busy. Jen truly cares about the community and is looking forward for VCA Jackson Animal Hospital to be more involved.
