Crazy stuff happens on a daily basis and we don't take ourselves too seriously.

It’s been a while since I updated the Loose page. Life has been increasingly busy, in lots of terrific ways. I got engaged over the summer to a fantastic guy who loves me and all the animals. In fact, he loves us so much that in October, we bought a larger farm to accommodate all of us. It’s just down the road from the Loose in the same wind tunnel neighborhood of Irwin. Now we have 30 acres for the critters to roam. With plenty of barn and outdoor space for all and even a guesthouse for human visitors.
We still have 2 horses, 5 goats, 11 chickens, 3 ducks, 2 guinea hens, 3 cats, 3 fish, and now 5 dogs (Clint‘s English setter, Riley, fits right in). I already have remodel plans for the farm and the house (pond, kitchen etc. etc) so it will be fun to have projects-and I’m sure more animals in the future 😊 I’m in love with new place (automatic waterers and indoor hay storage are the bomb!!) Same animals, same goofy stuff happening all the time. I’m working on changing the FB page name, but Welcome to Calamity Acres!

It’s a good thing that Santa Claus came yesterday because Ned Pepper is on the naughty list.

The floor is lava.
I shampooed the carpets and Georgia isn’t taking any chances.

The #1 reason that time change should be abolished...trying to tell this pack that it’s not dinnertime yet.

Quite the show tonight Mother Nature, better than television.

Oh what to do while I wait for the water trough to fill up? Take pictures of the critters of course! Here are a few of the photogenic residents of the Loose on this crisp, fall day.

I declare winter officially over!

I just put up 275 feet of snow fence, which in the irony of all things life, negates the need for said snow fence. Get out your shorts and flip flops because Indian Summer is on its way. For all of you who hate the fluffy white stuff, I take tributes of beer and chocolate for my services. And that is all...slow clap.

I looked out the window this morning to see Georgia inside the goat pen. If she can get in, then the goats can get out. Sure enough, the gate is wide open and the goats are running around the yard. Super smarty pants Georgia can’t figure out how to go back through the open gate, so she’s sitting inside the fence crying, waiting to be rescued. At least she has the cute thing going for her......

Movie night is not complete without Georgia.

I'm having coffee with the back door open to the breeze and Mouse the chicken strolls in for a visit. Nothing new here folks, just Life on the Loose.

National Dog Day they say...the canine crew on the Loose thinks that's everyday 😊

WARNING-not Eclipse related....

Just a couple of dogs fighting over a giant Lambchop. When you're 40 pounds of sass, you still don't stand a chance against the big girl and her Lamby.

I have been taking a pic every day since June 23rd when the first egg was laid. They hatched on July 9th and today I watched them fly away into the great big world. Spread your wings little Waldo and Merle. ❤️

It's all about the pooches.

Yesterday I took the ranger to pull irrigation gates (about a mile from the house) and on the way back I noticed a couple of chicken eggs on the road. I thought it was weird, but shrugged it off. Then I found one on my driveway. My chickens are rebel egg layers so looked in the bed of the ranger but didn't see any eggs. This morning I decided to look underneath and found the problem. I have a$$hole chickens. So anyone traveling on Old Irwin Road, sorry about the Hansel and Gretel path, but if you follow it, I'll give you some eggs (if we can find them).
