We are a very small, home based hobbyist breeder located just north of Fort Worth, Texas. I am a Hobbyist Breeder – NOT a commercial breeder and I try to keep meticulous records. I breed birds as my hobby for a few different reasons. Obviously, lol. You really have to love them to deal with the mess they can create. It’s like having a small child. You have to give them attention, care for them, an
d love them. Two, I love babies! Babies are absolutely adorable. This generally applies to most species in my case. Three, they’ve got personality and when they make accomplishments I get excited. As they grow they can be quite silly when they start to get curious and investigate their new world. I think in Parrotlets this is especially true. When they move to the bird cage and learn how to hang up side down like bats and they’re like “Wutz up my peeps?” - It’s too funny. If only I could teach them to say that before they left (not possible that young, but it would be awesome). Four, I find the rainbow of colors that can be produced fascinating. We’ve always had breeding projects in our house; it’s something we enjoy as a family. I love my family and I love my animals. I’d be one of those crazy cat/bird/dog people if my husband would allow it, lol. Hours by appointment only.
