Double the ears, double the fun! 🫏🫏
Donkeys are incredible companions, but their stoic nature means they often hide signs of discomfort—including dental issues. Routine dental care is essential to catch problems early and keep them feeling their best. Got donkeys? We’re here to help with all their dental needs! 🦷✨

They make you itchy just looking at them! This cool video captures Chorioptes equi — often called ‘feather mites’ — wiggling around under the microscope. Dr. McCleery took a skin scrape after hearing about leg biting and noticing other horses stomping. Check out these tiny troublemakers in action! 🎥👀

Look who was back on the truck with us! 🚑🐴 Katie, a former MEVS ER tech, joined us for a couple of days while she was in town. It was such a treat to have her along—the extra set of hands 🙌 (and her great attitude 😊) made the days fly by! Here she is with two adorable fillies 🐎🐎 who loved all the extra attention. Thanks for riding along, Katie!

📰 Breaking news: We’ve officially hired our new associate!
Meet Livestock Vet Barbie 🎀—she’s rocking pink boots, a pocket-sized stethoscope, and an endless supply of enthusiasm for barn calls 🐴🐮. Sure, she’s a little shorter than the rest of us, but she’s already fitting right in!

Just kidding! In all seriousness, Dr. McCleery will be heading back to Texas A&M—her alma mater—next week to meet with equine-focused students at their job fair, working to secure that ever-elusive associate!

Huge thanks to our wonderful client for introducing us to the newest (and most fashionable) member of the team!

Brrr! Dr. McCleery is taking the cold in stride—ProStride, that is! 🥶🐴
Here she is in her cold-weather coveralls, mixing ProStride to inject into a horse’s knee. What’s ProStride? It’s a regenerative treatment using the horse’s own blood components to reduce inflammation, promote healing, and help with lameness or arthritis. We’re proud to offer this service so your horse can stay active and comfortable!

Our Story

McCleery Equine is a mobile practice that offers routine and emergency care for horses. Dr. McCleery is certified in equine spinal manipulation and is a member of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology - a group specializing in sport horse lameness. Although MEVS specializes in equine veterinary care, we are also happy to provide care for small ruminants (we love goats!).
