Hi everyone! Brief update about April - She is recovering well. Still a few more weeks before she can do a trail. She gave a couple of lessons from a lounge chair at the edge of the ring - progress! 😊

If you are interested in doing a trail ride, we have experienced part-time trail guides to accommodate you! Call April to check on availability.

Hay all! We have received part of our order of some nice hay. The horses are loving this batch!

Please, if anyone can spare a little time, April could really use the help bagging bread for the horses. She has tried to do a little, but it was hard on her. She really cannot do it. She needs at least 3 more weeks of recovery time before doing any work. For a long time we couldn't get much bread, but we have a decent amount right now. If you only have time to do a few bags, that is still much appreciated! Bring your radio! Bring a friend! Text April to find out the need on the day you plan to come. Hi, I am a long time volunteer at Slocum's Appaloosa Ranch and we are looking to raise funds to help feed our horses over the next few months. April is the long time owner and barn manager responsible for every day chores like feeding and taking care of the horses, as well as lessons and trail rides. Unfortunately, April had to have emergency surgery and will be out of commission for the next few months which means limited/no income and lots of hungry mouths to feed. We have around 50 horses on the property, many of them older and retired so we go through a LOT of hay and grain, especially in the winter when grass is limited. We have a decent hay storage, but it still takes about $400 a week to feed the herd. Any little bit helps, so please share and help support our horses!
