We wanted to send out this important reminder after a recent incident in the Highlands of Waltham, MA on 1/22/25 when a woman’s dog was attacked by five coyotes in her yard. The poor dog suffered multiple wounds, but thankfully her son was in the yard, and his quick action in chasing the coyotes away saved the dog’s life.

This serves as a critical reminder to never leave dogs unattended in yards, no matter how safe it may seem.

Coyote mating season is upon us, and it’s important to stay extra cautious to keep your pets safe. Coyotes are more active and much more bold during this time of year, and knowing how to handle an encounter can make all the difference. We actually have quite a few in the Waltham area that seem to hang out and hunt in groups! Here’s everything you need to know to protect your furry family members.

✨ Ringing in 2025 with Gratitude and Care! ✨

As we close out another incredible year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the joy and trust you’ve brought to Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting. To our wonderful clients and devoted team, we are endlessly grateful for the love, care, and commitment that make our work so fulfilling. Together, we’ve created a community centered on the well-being of your furry family members. Here’s to another year of pawsitive vibes, wagging tails, and happy purrs!

While we celebrate this special occasion, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe during New Year’s festivities. Fireworks and holiday commotion can be stressful for pets, but a little preparation goes a long way. Here are some quick tips to ensure a safe and calm night for your pets:

Create a Safe Space: Set up a cozy, quiet area in your home where your pet can retreat if they feel overwhelmed. Include their favorite blanket, toys, and maybe even some calming music.

Muffle Firework Noise: Close windows and curtains to reduce the sound of fireworks and create a more peaceful atmosphere. A white noise machine or fan can also help.

Provide Comfort: If your pet is anxious, offer reassurance with gentle petting or simply being present. However, let them take the lead. Sometimes they prefer space to settle themselves.

Keep Pets Indoors: Even pets who usually love being outside should stay indoors during loud celebrations to prevent them from running away if frightened.

Check Their ID: Ensure your pet’s collar and microchip information are up to date, just in case they slip out unnoticed.

Party Smart: Keep human food, drinks, and party supplies out of reach. Many can be hazardous to pets (yes, even that leftover champagne!).

With these tips, we hope everyone, pets and people alike, can enjoy a safe, happy start to 2025. Thank you for being part of our journey, and we can’t wait to continue caring for your amazing pets in the year ahead.

Sending big hugs, lots of love, and Pawsitive Vibes into the New Year!!!

Bo’s Journey: A Tough Cookie with a Heart of Gold ❤️

We wanted to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to our incredible team for closely monitoring Bo and catching some subtle signs that led to him getting the care he needed. Bo’s mom shared that he was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and is currently on antibiotics and oxygen as he recovered. Thankfully, further tests showed his heart is in good shape, and the initial enlarged heart concerns were due to the imaging angle.

Bo has been such a champ through it all. His mom described him as a “very patient patient” who missed his Pawsitive friends while he was recovering. We’re so grateful for our team’s dedication and vigilance, ensuring Bo’s health and well-being were prioritized.

Let’s send lots of love and pawsitive vibes to Bo as he continues his recovery!
