Hi Folks,

There are a lot of reports in the last few days about a "super dog flu" or a "mystery dog illness" or a "deadly dog pneumonia". I want to assure you all that I have heard about this and have done research on it, including reading every article I can find and, more importantly, calling my personal veterinarian. The articles have indicated that it is not in Arizona yet. However, it is in Colorado and California, so I figure it is a matter of time. My vet office said "they have not seen any cases other than an aspiration pneumonia (who among us hasn't aspirated a food, drink, or our own saliva - be careful folks!), so not related. They have heard of the “mystery respiratory disease” but haven’t heard of any other vets in our area experiencing any cases. My vet office said they would call me if things change (because I expressed concern for my clients and my own dog) which is really nice, but I am going to keep following up, since it seems like it is inevitable since we are right next to Colorado and California, especially with coming holiday travel.

We have not come across any dogs coughing at the dog park or on any trails where we have been. If we do, I will be contacting everyone and possibly suspending service.

Your dogs are my dogs and I do not want any of them to even get sick. I will do everything to make sure this isn't an issue in the Four Paws pack!
