Besides being on The Today Show for my book launch, the highlight was that black cat Dean Cain is holding had spent a year in a cage at the shelter finally got adopted! He stayed in my hotel room the night before filming (the cat, not Dean Cain), and you should have seen him! He was over the moon to finally have a taste of the home life—even if it was just a hotel room. 🐾🖤🎥

It was worth it! A lot of cats were spayed and neutered and began living lives out of cages for the first time because of the TV show!
Apparently, no sleep is the secret to success. 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. filming sessions: just when I mastered being nocturnal, we’d wrap up… only to start all over 3 weeks later. Perpetual jet lag is like living in a time warp. Helping cats makes it all worth it, though. Who knew my zombie mode would lead to 2 Academy Awards?!

21% of cats age 7 or older were not considered healthy at their vet appointment when the owners considered them healthy. 30 to 40% of cats have renal dysfunction as senior cats and 81% 15 years and older. What I do all day as a cat behaviorist and sometimes all night depending on what country we’re filming.
This explained a lot of the cat’s unwanted behavior we were working with on the show. Many countries are a bit behind when it comes to spaying/neutering their cats and dogs, but you wouldn’t believe how the U.S. is not far behind. Spaying/neutering is one thing, but many cat owners wait just a few weeks or months too long past a cat’s sexual maturity and before you know it, kittens are on the way. Many countries still believe letting their dog or cat have one litter will make them a better pet - a huge myth. Not only does spaying/neutering reduce unwanted pets, but the cancers that come along with intact dogs and cats, so it really DOES SAVE LIVES.

Not very many cat owners get a chance to see where their cat’s food is made. This is a small video snippet of one of the highest technology factories in the world that I work for as a scientific nutrition research consultant and cat behaviorist (yes, nutrition is the cornerstone for a behaviorally thriving feline). So much goes into making your cat food in the research laboratories before it even makes it to the factory!

This is a small sample of what I’ve been doing overseas to help improve the welfare of cats. Many countries need help learning about proper nutrition, spaying/neutering, and how to care for a cat. It’s been a very impactful last 3 years doing this. It’s hard work, but it’s also my passion for helping both cats and their owners as a cat behaviorist and scientific nutrition research consultant. This is the learning center in Shanghai, China for the sponsor of the show I now host My Cat from Hell on Discovery Plus (that has one billion viewers and won 2 academy awards) to help educate cat owners.

My Cat from Hell TV show commercial filming for sponsor of the show. These cats were all ready to be adopted. I hope they all have good homes by now with the help of Feline Good Cat Cafe in California. I think some were adopted while we filmed Feline Good Social Club!
